Anyone create any unique weapons for their game?

New mundane weapons imc irritate me beyond belief if they are not historical. "Yeah, this is called a reaver. It is keener than a rapier, but looks identical" ARRRG.

But weapons themselves can be mutable in appearance, for example, the House Guard of House Westenberger dress in full plate that give them an appearance like this:

And carry "repeating crossbows" that look something like this:

Now this obviously takes some stretch of imagination, but I could imagine a spring loaded crossbow taking such a tubular appearance.

Battlehammer
Medium Exotic Weapon, 1d10/x3, Bludgeoning, hand-and-a-half*
*without EWP, may wield as 2-handed Martial weapon.

Maul
Large Martial Weapon, 1d12/x3, Bludgeoning
changed from the FRCS version, which violates 3e weapon design.

Estoc
Large Martial Weapon, 1d8/x4, Piercing

Replaced Glaive (which is effectively a knife blade on a pole, therefore should do 1d10/19-20x2) with Bardiche (which is closer to an axe blade, thus 1d10/x3 is more appropriate).

As giants are a predominant theme in our campaign I've got a few weapons that help them battle the little folk.

4. The War-Log: Basically a log riddled with short spikes which is usually thrown to mow down and break up smaller opponents' formations. If used in war they can be hollowed and filled with flaming oil (or more deadly substance) which escapes from a row small holes down the long side of the log. As it rolls, the flaming oil flies out like a pyromaniac's sprinkler. Widths vary from 10-30 ft. It can also be used as clumsy melee weapon.

sounds like a flaming caber.;)

Something I've always wanted to bring into a game as an exotic elven weapon, but haven't had the chance yet is the crescent moon.

Basically it is a crescent moon shaped blade, sharp the length of it. It has stats as per a scimitar, but it is made to be thrown. It can be wielded as a melee weapon but only if the proper precautions are taken (i.e. a heavy gauntlet). These were meant to be the weapons of an elite elven force and are most commonly enchanted with the returning enchantment as carrying very many of them would both be impracticle and expensive. Wounding is also a popular choice to punish the unwary that might try to imploy it without taking the proper precautions.

Oni, consider the idea SWIP-ED! :D

EDIT: A few thoughts on the Elven Crescent as it appears in my campaign.

  • I set the damages at 1d8 for melee, 1d6 for ranged. As such, the blade's a little larger, maybe around two to three feet in length.
  • Along with the heavy gauntlets, some also employ wraps made of mithril, chain, etc. It's a stylistic choice, in any case.
