But only the pre-3e parts, clearly. It's not catering to GenX, its CELEBRATING THE ANNIVERSARY.
Well probably some catering. But seriously. its the 50th Anniversary, should they not celebrate their history?

This is part of why they never have had success with iconics. The thing that gets me about these covers and the artwork of the D&D cartoon is that Venger, Warduke, Presto, Eric, Sheila, and the rest were not really this iconic cornerstone of the game for me. They were a Saturday morning cartoon that was really disconnected from anything with the game outside of some branding.

We tell our own stories, with our characters.
You can have nostalgia for something that you didn't experience. Anemoia is nostalgia for a time you never experienced.I don't have nostalgia for all of this stuff.. Not in the traditional sense, anyway. Can you have nostalgia for something you didn't experience?
But regardless I really enjoy all of it. I've spent a lot of time combing through old books, old Dragon/Dungeon magazines, and old adventures. It's really neat to see where the hobby came from.
I’d love for them to bring back the 3E iconics. Especially Lidda. But only the pre-3e parts, clearly.
In the very least they could give us a single page party action shot!I’d love for them to bring back the 3E iconics. Especially Lidda.
I would be really surprised if they don't show up anywhere in the 2024 PHB. With Redgar dead again. In the very least they could give us a single page party action shot!
I don't cause I can't tell at a glance that a 3e halfling is a halfling.I don't actually mind the bobble-headed halflings of 5e, though I do prefer the 3e halflings.
