At the Inn of the Fortunate Minotaur

OOC: You really are a magnificent bastard. And, checking the map, it looks like towns are few and far between. I'm sure we'll meet some traders along the way, but don't count on it. I think we're set for food (Mike's rations, plus a cleric who can create food/water), but everything else.. write it down!

stuff to buy

I have drawn up a list of equipment we should need. Always prepare for the worst, in my opinion. Here's what sounds good to me:

2 wagons (35 x 2 = 70gp)
4 heavy horses (200 x 4 = 800gp)
4 light warhorse (150 x 4 = 600gp)
4 military saddles (20 x 4 = 80gp)
4 bit and bridles (2 x 4 = 8gp)
8 barrels (for water) (2 x 8 = 16gp)
250 days trail rations (250 x .5 = 125gp)
200' silk rope (4 x 10 = 40gp)
2 hooded lanterns (2 x 7 = 14gp)
2 bullseye lanterns (2 x 12 = 24gp)
75 pints oil 7.5gp (to makes sure, Kaemris, I know how you worry so)
3 tents (3 x 10 = 30 gp)
20 sheets parchment (4 gp)
3 oz. Ink (24gp)
1 iron pot (.5gp)
flint and steel (1 gp)
25 days firewood (25 x .01 = .25gp)
3 signal whistles (3 x .8 = 2.4gp)
3 small steel mirrors (3 x 10 = 30gp)
grappling hook (1 gp)
400 days horse rations (400 x .05 = 20 gp)
5 sets of manacles (75gp)
+4 shovels (8gp)
+4 axes, hand (24gp)
+100 yds canvas (10 gp)
+20 pitons (2 gp)
+ a ten foot pole (.2gp)
hammer (.5gp)
and a crowbar (2gp)

Total 2040.35

plus everyone should already own the following, but if they dont buy them

bedroll
winter blanket
1 set of clothing
explorer's outfit
backpack (or sack)
2 waterskins
any religious or trade items (spell component pouches, disguise kits, thieves tools, healer's kits, musical instruments, or holy symbols)

I know there are several questionable items on the list. The parchment is for posting notices in the settler's camp, the signal whistles and small mirrors, are so the scouts and wagon drivers can communicate over long distances.

If Van were here, he'd say, "You forgot iron spikes." Kaemris adds, "Thanks for the oil. How about a 10' pole?"

No new leader yet.

I'd also include things like bowstrings (I'm always snapping these).

Other things:
100 sq. yds. canvas
firewood for 14 days (just in case we're in a spot where we can't chop our own)
4 axes (for chopping firewood)
4 shovels

fire wood is on the list. as for axes and shovels, i forgot to copy them on to the master lsit. ah, whats the canvas, the iron spikes (pitons?), and the 10' pole for? Couldnt we improvise a pole?

Iron spikes are very useful, especially for spiking doors so adventuring parties do not get surprised by wandering monsters in dungeons.

Canvas is for tent and wagon repairs.

Speaking of repairs, what kind of skills do these families have? I'm not necessarily good at some of the skills that might be of value like wagon repair.
