AtG Howling Crag (5e PBP) OOC

I've got the gist of what I want to post for Doc in my head for to bring things up to to date, but I want to make sure it is congruent with the conversations we've had. Also, thanks to all, and especially @FitzTheRuke and @TaranTheWanderer ...

The chapel / graveyard is located next to the keep, right? Based on a prior post in the thread, I think I will create "sent by the Sheriff" hirelings for that which will also help explain the genesis.

As for the bar and gambling hall, I saw that the gambling hall will be in the village. That tracks. It would also make sense IMO to have the bar there as well (attached, next to, etc.), and I have a story for the bar/gambling hall in the village. Do we have a name for Greyfalls Village yet? Did you recall what it was called, Fitz?

I’ll post the bastion photos in the Rogues Gallery. The chapel is next to the castle on the middle tier

It hasn't come back to me! I can't promise it was genius, but I was very satisfied with it. I'm less satisfied with anything I've come up with since. It ought to be something simple. It's at the edge of the rolling, somewhat barren damp hills that the Steading was in (but more northwest, closer to the Crystalmist Mountains) - if we're placing it in Greyhawk, as opposed to my earlier "make it up as I go along" setting, then I think it's in The Yeomanry.

My inspiration for it is Dartmoor in Devon, UK, for those that might know the place.

The name ought to be something along the lines of Shepsdale, or Undermoor, or Doyle's Tor.

I'm open to suggestions.

I like Doyle's Tor.

I'd go with something like Gallows' Howe (hollow, valley) as a suggestion, but I just need a name. I'm thinking Doc will be spending most of his off-time in the Village, and I've got ideas.

ETA- assume the bar and gambling hall can be place together in a large building?

I thought you might like Doyle's Tor. Maybe we should go with it? Greyhawk is full of sly nods, after all.

Yes, the gambling hall can be in the back or basement or beside a tavern.

Doyle's Tor it is! I will be posting for Doc's gap year six weeks shortly.
I have a tavern. It's a large tavern with a kitchen and a gambling room in the a special room. I'll post all the pictures in a moment, let me know if you like it. If anyone wants to move their facility to a different room in the castle or find a cool image they want for a specific facility, just DM it to me and I'll post it/fix it/replace it.

Hey Guys! I'll post in the next couple of days. Don't have the bastion details, so feel free to take stuff up for Gimlak.
I'm psyched we're back at it!
Cheers!

I’m not super familiar with Gimlack’s backstory. I’ll check it out on the RG. Can you give me a brief description of your goals for the bastion? I’ll be happy to choose some facilities and reskin them to suit your character as necessary

Regarding the festival I mentioned in my post. It’s seems weird to be having one right at the beginning of the game. Especially, given the danger noted in the first post. Maybe it is to celebrate the reopening of the keep and to raise morale of the local population by having a show of military prowess. The preparations are happening and it will take place at some game appropriate time.

In one campaign I GMd I started each adventure with a festival, that got the PCs (old and dew) together to showcase their prowess before they were recruited to go off on the mission.

Having a Festival now that Greyfalls is restored and Donnell installed as the laird seems like a great way to raise morale and assert that everything is under control despite rumours of giants (and as far as the general populace in Doyles Tor know, the Giant threat has been dealt with)
