ok i need a 30th level character. i was thinking a rogue lasher but im not sure how to explain a rogue who isnt in any way shape or form sneaky im playing a draegloth but dont factor in lvl adjustment or monsterous HD.

one of my favorite characters ever was a Dwarf Fighter 2 / Rogue 5 who went around in fullplate and did his Sneaks with a two-hander. Imp Feint is your friend. He had no sneaking skills, and was a very capable locksmith. So imo, Rogue isn't always about stealth. In his own mind, the character saw himself as a deadly warrior (especially when he won init. hehe)

Homebrew race? Who is your DM, R.A. Salvatore? the Draegloth is in Monsters of Faerun, Races of Faerun, and the War of the Spiderqueen series.... so how is this a homebrew race for you? <confused> Pretty sure Draegloth is in another, newer book too.... (Races of Destiny?)

I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm attacking you, that is not my intent. Nothing but luv :D

Haven't seen it in Races. It is in Monsters, though, and now in CHampions of Ruin (as monster class progression). Races of Destiny wouldn't be right since it is not about the FR and talks about humans and half-humans.

I have an obsesion with drow and wanted a large character with unarmed attacks (to compensate for AoO with whip)

I need help with feats skills items and stuff. Oh and an artifact to base it around

Draegloth aren't really like drow imo.

Drow are agile, smart and charismatic, and of course sadistic, championing an intelligent, devious, darkly beautiful kind of evil. Draegloth usually are disgusting brutes with the mass murderer kind of evil - exactly not like drow. Too much demon blood, I guess.

So of course you can play a draegloth, a big fighting mashine, but it's not really going to be like a drow. (Have you considered a drow shade. The shade template would certainly fit for a follower of Vhaeraun)

You know that a real draegloth isn't playable at low levels: They have 6 racial hit dice, each counting as a level, and a level adjustment of 4 to boot. So a draegloth with even one level of, say, rogue, is the equivalent of an 11th-level character. A draegloth without any class levels, but with his usual powers, is the equivalent of a t10th-level character.

So what to do if you want to play a draegloth at lover levels? You use a monster class progression:

A monster class breaks down the racial traits of the monster in question into as many levels as the race has racial HD + the LA. For example, a first-level draegloth only has one HD, claw attacks, low resistances, dancing lights 1/day, +2 con and a couple of other things. At 7th level, it already has 4 hit dice (and LA +3) , with more powerfuil resistances, stat bonuses, and so on. On class level 10 of the draegloth monster class, the draegloth will have all the abilities of the monster entry. After that, you take class levels as normal.

If you're starting at level 40, it doesn't really matter: You start with the full racial HD and powers, slapping 30 class levels on him, and go.

Post what you've got, and we can help you from there.

If you could put in the form of a Monster Manual Stat block, that would help quite a bit.

I assume the first 5d8 in your Hit Dice entry are Racial Hit Dice, the 20d6 are Rogue Hit Dice, and the 10d8 are Monk Hit Dice? So you have a Draegloth Rogue 20/Monk 10?
