I've enjoyed a few games of Call of Cthulhu. I don't recall ever thinking "I'm sure glad this isn't more fun" while doing so.
A DM can have fun for themselves that doesn't directly connect to facilitating their player's fun. Running the NPCs, for example, or worldbuilding, or making new game elements. It's not all or nothing.

I explicitly said what I meant in post 59. After that Post 62 quoted it making a completely different point. You came along in post 70 where you quoted post62 while saying that both me (post59?) and post 62 were wrong while making absolutely no effort to support either post being wrong.. The onus is on you to support that claim and asking me to rephrase the request to support either of your own post 70 claims that both were wrong is a clear assertion that you were never capable of supporting either of the two claims you made in post 70.

Post 59 was quotes from the video & how I felt about them, IoW the opinion you declared "wrong". I asked you to back up the claim with literally anything. Failing that, how about why your opinion apparently matters more? Maybe even enough reasoning to provide a foundation for discussing why that may or may not be. Did you not read the quoted post 59 before declaring it "wrong
I think you missed my point where I said I am not going to click on links to other posts, so I am disregarding everything here that wants me to jump through hoops.
"Most"? If that were true, there would be an actual effort to appeal to the DM rather than attempting to exclusively appeal to players while hyping both books.
Most books are aimed at the DM. Name the last Player Facing book released for 5e, that is not the new PHB.

How so? Have you even read them?
Of the ones you’ve named, I personally own Fizban's, Bigby's, Spelljammer, and the Book of Many Things.

Of those, Fizban’s gets the most use, and it’s still a rare pickup. It’s…fine? It’s still mostly lore advice.

The rest are just mediocre.

Compare to the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition; the thirty pages of the GM’s Toolkit. That gets SO much use. Just in thirty pages.
It’s not lore - it’s tools. Constantly useful tools.

I'm actually kind-of tempted to consider a bastion-central campaign, where running and upgrading it is much of the point of the game, and quests are generated around it. While facilities would still be unlocked at particular levels, their acquisition wouldn't be automatic, but would involve special quests to gain access to whatever is most needed to make them happen.

Make the bastion a social or economic hub for the surrounding area, with the players invested to help out with local issues as improving the area will benefit the bastion.

I expect the defaults would need some adjustment to accomodate that style of game, but having the basic framework available would certainly help.

Lore is also useful for DM's and I quite like most of those books. So agree to disagree. The Book of Many things in particular is full of tools and such.

It's ok to admit that you made a mistake when you decided to tag me & declare that I too was wrong while quoting a post I did not make... Otherwise. wrong about what specific thing that I wrote? Saying that you were just giving an opinion is pointless when you are saying that someone else's an opinion is wrong ... That goes double when you do it while quoting a post they did not make and that post is not a point they made.

Nearly all of them are focused more on "I as a player want these things" more than "what tools does the GM need". If that were not the case wotc would not be crowing about thethird (fourth?) take on 5e crafting rules in the new DMG. However we are taking about the 2024DMG not the 2014 one and we just watched the onednd year long playtest with an exclusive focus on player desires followed by the 2024DMG continuing to hype & speak exclusively to player desires

I think you are wrong about 5e not being for DMs.

Also again name the last Player Facing book.

While I agree weith it, That's not a point I made. Again, we are talking about 2024. What in wotc's hype & coverage of the 2024 books do you feel is clearly directed at GM's & the needs of GM's rather than the desires of players?
Also again name the last Player Facing book.
There is only one currently available book
