In the mini-series, when they were to make the first jump to Ragnar station, they were told to "break out the FTL tables and warm up the computers." So it's probably computer-assisted, but with significant manual input.

Good ole' fashion elbow grease, would get you where...you need to go:D

Pilots are less an issue than Vipers, I think. For this show to last more than a couple of seasons, I think they're going to have to find a distant/lost storage depot with some more Vipers (or something) in them. At least one Viper has been destroyed in every episode with space combat (and some without) and in an average 22 episode season, this does not bode well.

Well, they do have a factory ship with them, IIRC. So, *theoretically*, they can make more, if they can get the materials and have the factory ship configured to make them. I have my doubts about how much they can accomplish with that, though.

Finding a depot is vastly unlikely. It sounds like they're way past the Colonial borders at this point, pushing into uncharted territory.

Meeting up with the Pegasus could help in this regard...but I think that's unlikely as well. The Vipers are, obviously, the primary offensive and defensive weapon of the battlestar, so they get worked out a lot. It depends partially on how aggressive the commander of the Pegasus is...if he keeps going after Cylons, waging his own personal war of vengeance against them, pretty soon he's not going to have any left. Also, what happens if the Pegasus has the newer models? You know, the ones that got EMP-screwed to death?

Probably the best chance they have is to nip back to the Colonies and raid a depot there; not only is there a possibility that such depots would exist, but it's quite likely that there could be mothballed Mark 2s in such a depot, if the Fleet decided they didn't want to scrap them right away. It'd be an amazingly risky thing to do, but if they go out far enough, doubling back may be just clever enough.
