I couldn't find the older thread since this forum only goes back three pages and I don't have search. If a mod wants to merge with the older one, that's cool.

I just wanted to say that I really like the potential of the new characters. The pilot episode of BH-UK I thought was very cool. Then they started the series with different actors and I just sort-of... hung on. I enjoyed it for the most part but ultimately I couldn't really stand any of the characters or their actors.

The new actors and characters, however, I really quite like not only for their chemistry, acting and characterisation but also for their potential as the series progresses. In fact, I would've liked to have seen this group from the very start and I have decided that, from now on, I'm going to treat it as if the next season is actually the start of an entirely new series.

Plus, the scottish chick is hot.

I quite enjoyed the previous seasons, but the first few of this season were a little rough. It's really come together again, though, and this week's episode was surprising and very enjoyable.

What I'm particularly enjoying about the fact that there are US and UK series is the way they've diverged, with significantly different mythologies and plots. It's fun to see the same premise taken in separate directions.

I've been debating whether or not to get into the US version. I saw the first episode and thought, "Meh, this is just the same thing, different smell," but from all accounts it has become it's own beast which is definitely a good thing.

Definitely its own beast, following not only different plot lines but even with differing universe rules, including (minor spoilers)
how ghosts work and the effect of werewolf blood on vampires
.
