Best TV Season Finale (Possible Spoilers)

What about the Friends episode where Rachel finds out that Ross is in love with her and goes to meet him at the airport, but it turns out that he met someone in China? I can't remember if it was the second or third season finale though, because it has gone from a strong sitcom to The Show That Wouldn't Die.

Hmm. I just nominated an episode of Friends in the middle of a bunch of ST:TNGs, B5s, ST: DSNs, Farscapes, Blake's 7.

Should I change my username to theburningwoman?

Well, the problem with Friends is one you've already pointed out...it's gone on too long. Been that way for a few years, yet. I thought the series finale of Seinfeld was interesting...but I don't know if it was actually 'good' or not. The ending sort-of felt like a Jean Paul Sartre play...which I guess was the point.

Nope, I already went there. ;) I've always liked that show, even the current eps. It's still funny. Seinfeld's last season was no where close to everything that came before it. Larry David's departure was evident.

I believe you can do it by editing your original post's title.

Done. Thanks for the advice.

That would be the first season finale, which ends with Rachel waiting at the gate for Ross to return.

Show that Wouldn't Die? Maybe, but I think it's been pretty good the last 2 seasons, better than it's been in a while.

Nothing wrong with liking Friends either. Actually, I'd take an episode of Friends over most of the other stuff you mentioned. And yes, I'm ready to get crucified for admitting that :D .

I stopped watching X-Files after Mulder was taken.

As for DS9, the series finale was a mixed bag. The first hour was awesome but the second hour was rather weak. I want to go back and watch it again just to see why. I just recall not being as nearly as impressed or entertained as I was with the previous 3 seasons...

I should have stopped watching XFiles then also.

DS9's series finale was about an hour and a half of real epsiode, then suddenly about a half hour of... well all of a sudden they're detailing a couple years worth of events, and in a very disconcerting/ discontinuous manner that just left it lacking.

Friends has lost a little of their energy, but I think they've also gained some from being more episodic and going for some laughs instead of trying to make a point.

I still watch friends, and find it amusing. I also like Scrubs. Most other shows have just lost appeal. (70's Show is good, but very different from teh early eps)

Also, for Buffy's season 5 finale, was that the Glory, Jump Into Portal thing?

Didn't like that at all, since I still find the logic lacking, and there really didn't seem to be any chance that Buffy would stay dead.
Heck, I think they started running the commercials right away... "Is she reallyu dead?"
It's like when they leave off an ep with Buffy nearly dead, and try to make you think she's dead, and then show her alive and well in the next ep...

It was intended to be the series finale...Until the show got picked up by a different network and they suddenly gave Willow a big power boost and got Buffy res'd

my top picks are the king of the hill one when Peggy went sky diving and her shoot didn't open and the season 1 ending of lexx you got to say something when a universe is destoryed

Couldn't disagree more. That's when X-Files started to get
interesting again after two rather lackluster seasons (the 7th is
definately the series's worst). Still, haven't seen the 9th season
yet, so I can't comment on that, but the 8th was quite good.
