You are correct, sir!Fast Learner said:She's totally hot, and I think her acting is just fine.
I think part of the reason is that the Doctor, as an alien, especially as a powerful Time Lord, isn't quite as relatable to as a character as the companions are, who are usually human from modern-day earth, and therefore have more in common with the viewer.Thornir Alekeg said:I liked her character overall, but several times in the first season I felt like she was the star and the Doctor was a supporting character. Maybe that will be better with the next one.

Someone who can act, please.
AFAIC, the current companion meets both those criteria. Her singing OTOH, wasn't so impressive...trancejeremy said:Someone who is attractive would also be nice.
I think you are correct, but in the older series there was very little doubt who was the star of the show. The companions were important to the show and provided perspective as well, but not to the same degree that Rose has. I like it to some degree, but I also have wanted to see the show become just a touch less earth-centric.Sir Brennen said:I think part of the reason is that the Doctor, as an alien, especially as a powerful Time Lord, isn't quite as relatable to as a character as the companions are, who are usually human from modern-day earth, and therefore have more in common with the viewer.
I've only seen the first season of the recent series, but it seems to me that it was, to a great extent, really about the adventure Rose was having courtesy of the Doctor, and I was pretty much OK with that.
