BLEB1: Beer Run (stonegod - Designated Driver)

OOC: Update likely tomorrow. Been trying to finish up my RL 2.5 year AoW campaign before all my players leave, so this week has been busy.

Warforged Surprise (Round 1)
Kenn rolls out of the wagon and uses it for cover from the undead warforged. Shadows flicker around him as he reaches out mentally for his psionic armor. This sudden movement startles Tam who wakes up, then immediately hits his head, knocking himself senseless.

A rattling sigh, the sound of air passing through rusting pipes, escapes the mouths of the lumbering 'forged. The one with the armblade slices wide, digging into the dirt. The other, however, painfully slams its arms into the shifter's chest, causing him to cring [3hp, now bloodied, err.. at half hitpoints]

Mardigan charges the 'forged with the armblade, and easily forces it to the ground. He uses the momentum to smash the flail's head into its plating, but its dead weight seems to soften the blow. [W2 tripped and hit; 2hp after DR]

The shifter burst out in fur and fang, anger on his face. Khoros stabs at the still standing foe, managing to land with his bite but not the spear. The taste is foul---bitter wood and death---but the wound is real. [8hp to W1] From behind him, the dwarven sorcerer lets fly more magic missiles, hitting the prone one. [3hp to W2]

Fritz is stunned by the odd warforged, and stands gaping. Rio keeps with the young man, planning his move.

Round 2 actions from all

Mardigan laughs heartily and yells over at Kenn. This is how you make a lumbering oaf look foolish. This is how smart guys fight, he says winking at his friend First you take the advantage, then you keep it.

OOC: my action will vary depending on whether or not the warforged stands up. Therefore I will leave the dice to you. If he stays down, I will continue to hit him. If he stands, I will take my attack of opportunity and repeat the process by trying to trip him again.

FYI: As per the FAQ, as the AoO interrupts the stand up action, the 'forged would still be prone (and thus you couldn't trip, just hit).

"A really smart guy gets a weapon long enough to stay out of their reach."
Kenn retorts -- and suiting action to words, he borrows Tam's glaive.
"I promise I'll bring this right back, but I don't think you're using it."
Waving the glaive menacingly at Mardigan's warforged, Kenn advances cautiously and tries to flank the thing.
"And he uses this thing in combat? By choice?"

Warforged Surprise (Round 2)

"A really smart guy gets a weapon long enough to stay out of their reach." Kenn retorts. The weapon is unwieldy, but he deals with it, surrounding the fallen 'forged.

The unarmed 'forged raises its arms tries to slam into Khoros again, but the swing is clumsy like most if its actions. The other mindlessly stands, given Kenn and the Orien scion ample opportunity to strike it. His unfamiliarity with the glaive spoils Kenn's swing and catches Mardigan's flail, ruining his swing. [A Nat 4 and a Nat 3 both miss] It swings at piteously at Mardigan, its armblade wide.

Sniffing at his miss, the House son uses the flail to trip of the 'forged again easily. But its outflung leg is stuck around the chain, forcing Margidan to spend is effort pulling free and not attacking. [Succeed on the trip, rolled Nat 1 on the follow on]

The snarling shifter dances around the clumsy warforged, and pounces. But the spear goes wide for little effect. [My dice hate folks today...]

Kuther's magic missile hits the prone form, damaging it further. Fritz follows with a splash of acid that dissolves some of its armor. [1 hp]

Seeing Fritz safe, the paladin moves opposite of the shifter and cuts deep into its plating. The fibrous bundles of the forge seem rotten, and fray easily under the blade. [Slashing ignores its DR] The cut is deep enough that it has limping and one of its arms has trouble moving... [11 hp; W1 near destruction]
