"These woods are filled with dangerous things. Some of them artificial, might I add." Quarion says with a scowl, thinking of the traps set by the woodsmen. "We are not here to rid the forests of danger to humans. We are here to uncover an artifact."

OOC: Do we still get XP for walking around the man-eating vine? :p

(OOC: The DMG specifically says yes with an example of a giant, and we are theoretically supposed to abide by its rulings on XP as a minimum, or so I've been told)

Quarion is unsure about the exact type of plant. He is pretty sure it belongs to a family of dangerous and flesh eating species. These plants tend to ambush thier prey, so walking around seems like the safe choice.

Not much later down the trail, Mordik seems to get what he asked for earlier. He stumbles in a spear trap. The spear strikes just as Mordik realises he might have stepped in a trapwire.

ooc: Mordik takes 5 damage form a spear trap. Regarding the XP: what RA said :)

"I for one will have my eyes open for more of those. I'm amazed it exist plants strong and fast enough to ambush and kill big animals or humanoids."

[sblock=Internal dialogue]"Did you see that?

"I was totally unaware"

"Me too, and not noticing things is becoming annoying."

"Being annoyed is the least of my problems. I don't want to become the diner of a plant or a trapper"
[/sblock]

"Are you feeling well?"

Curse these infernal trappers!" Quarion shouts as Mordik triggers the trap. "Do they mean to catch the creatures or just cause them needless pain?!" The druid is clearly upset, but he calms down quickly. "Mordik, are you hurt? We have the wand."

Eanos, human monk

Eanos flinches as the spear appears out of nowhere. He's visibly shaken for a moment. "I need to be more vigilant. I should have noticed that," he says, frustrated with the failure of his senses. Quarion offers healing before Eanos can, so the monk falls back into silence, eyes and ears open for more threats.

"Mordik, if you could scan around you for the possibility of more traps, as when there is one, there may be more, yes? If you can ascertain that the way is clear, I shall be glad to heal you of your wounds. The trap did not seem particularly deadly. Let us hope there was no poison or other nasty effect."

Mordik winces silently backing away from the trap. He then lets out a pained sigh, Argh... Aye, I should be a'right - tap me once with the wand and let's move on. Thinking to himself: Ranged attack trap; mechanical; location trigger; manual reset...Wow good accuracy too! I bet if they could put a bit more strength behind the spear it'd be more deadly instead of just hurting...Hmm..

Oh! Erm.. Mordik looks around for a moment... Assuming all is clear: It looks clear.

((ooc: assuming stats for the CR1 "Spear Trap" in thoughts and Mordik's able to make out that is the trap))
