Break of Dawn [Manzanita judging] COMPLETED

(OOC: Well we definitely don't want the original trapper who didn't even know there was a shrine  Actually, we're probably better having our Druidic friend ask the local fauna for directions

Aletheia does indeed remain rather flirtatious in general, although she is tasteful as she does so, and she makes sure not to offend any females there as she converses)

"Those rumors tend to confirm the 'demonic' theory, not the druidic one" says Odno. "Which is good from a certain point f view, since it avoid ethic conflicts regarding the retrieval of our target. I'm wary about the monsters they mention, however: I know little about demons, but if the assertion that undead roam the forest proves to be true that could pose a dangerous threat to us - some unliving monsters are extremely dangerous."

"If they are simple skeletons, zombies, ghouls or the like, I should be able to keep them at bay if I must," Aletheia offers, "But such an attempt is unfortunately likely to fail against most competent threats."

(OOC: Indeed--just one more reason that they are useless in finding it, since they clearly have not found it before. Of course, that could mean that it actually is a myth, since they should know the forest relatively well, but then, that doesn't seem likely)

Odno meditates on the fact that those who better know the forest have not found the shrine. "It's said that absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. I don't always particulary agree with it, but now it's the case I must. It merely proves that the chapel is well hidden, which makes only sense if it's purpose is to protect valuable property."

"Something you said caught my attention. If there's a charm sensitive to a person's inner feelings, able to discrimitae against those of a wicked heart it'd explain many things."

"In any case, I think we should prepare ourselves to explore the forest. I'm afraid the rumor well has run dry for now, unless we can find people who's been to the woods' core and have seen any of the creatures lurking there."

- the forest is not always safe. The people of Dawn stay away from the center of the forest. It is concidered a dangerous place where evil creatures dwell.
The trapper is also among the people (namely,. every inhabitant of Dawn) who keep clear of this 'forest center'.

Aletheia did made some 'friends'among the local male population. (assuming she continues her flirtatious demeanor) You could easily say she's rather popular by the end of the evening.
There is no clear path or anything that leads to the center. A great deal men in the village are woodsmen or trappers. Hiring one as a guide seems like an easy way to find it. Otherwise you could try and search for it yourselves.

Mordik starts talking to the returned trapper. the trapper seems a bit distracted as his eyes continually wander off to Aletheia while he speaks to Mordik. "Nah, not much. But this was mostly settin traps. We be collecting tomorrow mornin."

Mordik nods and thanks the trapper, then keeping him in his point of view. He'll go over to the party after the information gathering and ask, Well, the trapper is settin off into the forest tomorrow mornin again to collect. Mebbe we can ask to go along and he can show us the area? Mordik thinks to himself, ..and I can take a look at those traps...

Eanos shrugs. "Expressing interest in local lore makes us tourists. Hiring a guide to take us to a spot the locals regard as cursed might make us seem more suspect," he suggests. "Assuming Quarion's wood lore is sufficient to help us keep a sense of direction, we might do better on our own; we won't have to explain our selves to someone whose discretion we don't know, and we won't be obligated to protect a civilian.

"That said, should the majority decide we need a local guide, I'll gladly go along."
