Break of Dawn [Manzanita judging] COMPLETED

ooc: i know it usually takes a minute, but you're using it for something different than usually. There are about 30 people in the inn.

(OOC: True that--plus she probably talks to a bunch of people in that hour, not just one-on-one, so it makes sense. How many hours should I roll before the people start leaving?)

Most people will hang around for about 3 hours. Your 'friend' the trapper also returns after 2 hours, but we'll deal with that after the gatherinfo / diplomacy rolls.

(OOC: Wow, the most iconic 3 numbers on the d20. A 10, then a 20, then a 1 (modified 16, 26, 7 here. That's it for the three hours then. Looks like hour two she rules the house! Fortunately 7 is not low enough to actually harm anyone's opinion of her unless they were Hostile!)

Ooc

Eanos isn't much as a social character, himself. Would it be possible for him to use Aid Another on Aletheia's Diplomacy checks instead of rolling his own (unmodified) Gather Info?

If not, Eanos will sit back and let the "socials" do the talking for now, preferring to stay out of the way rather than risk putting his foot in his mouth and unintentionally sabotaging their efforts.

ooc: nobody believes the trapper is holding something back or telling half the truth. You're right about the GM rolls for sense motive.
Orrin has Common rooms and Common meals available. These are at the standard SRD price.
The trapper murmles something about 'Maybe later' in reply to Mordik's interest about the traps.

Not much later after the trapper leaves the inn more people start to enter the inn. There is also a musician who plays the flute and within less than an hour the inn is filled with cheerfull people entertaining themselves after a hard days work.

ooc: you can gather info if you want as per the skill.

then later:

Your 'friend' the trapper also returns after 2 hours, but we'll deal with that after the gatherinfo / diplomacy rolls.

Mordik finishes his meal and drink, listening to the musician intently. Mordik realizes he's no good at trying to get information so mostly sticks to hisself. When the trapper returns he will go up to him and try to start a conversation: Welcome back! Any luck? Any good catches today?

While talking to the locals you retrieve the following information:
- the forest is not always safe. The people of Dawn stay away from the center of the forest. It is concidered a dangerous place where evil creatures dwell.
- people talk of a shrine in this center. It is supposed to be an ancient ruin of some. The shrine is believed to be a myth which most people don't beleive in. They think it is a story, mae up to lure people to the forest. People do not know anything about a conneciton between the shrine and any druids.
- a demon resides bound the center of the forets who seeks to draw souls. When it acquires enough souls it can set itself free and reign terror on the world
- the center of the forest is haunted by the restless dead.
- a curse resides on the center of the forest. Only those pure of hart can enter and leave unharmed.

'Demons, undead, a shrine...well, that's nothing more than what we expected.'

(OOC: Did Aletheia make any good friends in the process? Also, is it clear which way to go from here to get to the 'centre' ?)

Aletheia did made some 'friends'among the local male population. (assuming she continues her flirtatious demeanor) You could easily say she's rather popular by the end of the evening.
There is no clear path or anything that leads to the center. A great deal men in the village are woodsmen or trappers. Hiring one as a guide seems like an easy way to find it. Otherwise you could try and search for it yourselves.

Mordik starts talking to the returned trapper. the trapper seems a bit distracted as his eyes continually wander off to Aletheia while he speaks to Mordik. "Nah, not much. But this was mostly settin traps. We be collecting tomorrow mornin."
