D&D 5E Can you like both 5e and Pathfinder?

I'll point the OP to this image which emerged during the flames of previous edition wars. It was my sig for a while and I still standby it.

Yes. I like and play both at the same time. I run two groups, one plays pathfinder (we just have a tpk playing rise of the Runelords after two years of gaming) and the other one plays 5th ed (we are playing since the starter set, now we are playing hoard of the Dragon queen).

Plus Im playing in another group with some of the pf group a dragonlance game. We started playing with adnd 2nd and now That the gm (adnd fan) has tasted 5th ed we just converted the game to 5th ed.

We enjoy both games.

I love the idea of pathfinder. Massive nicely laid out books, tons of DM crunch, great adventure paths, tons of options to explore, etc, but I'm over the 3e rule set. 5e is part of the reason for that, it's mechanics have killed all other editions of D&D for me.

I might just buy some pathfinder stuff just to read it tho, especially their APs.

Sure, you can like both. At low level they're actually very similar, but the mounting complexity of PF as you gain levels starts to feel like a very different game eventually.

Im sure the enlightened answer is Yes, I love 5e, its what's gotten me back to D&D after a 15 yr hiatus (last played 1 & 2e back in the early 90s). I have a great 5e campaign going set in Baldur's Gate (Im using Murder in BG as my home base). Anyway, Ive researched and discovered the versatility, variations and complexities of PF to be equally fulfilling to me. Im joining a PF group next month and been reading the PF core pdf. So far Im not intimidated by it and while there are a ton of options, I like the contrast to the simplicity of 5e.

Am I the only one? Cant 5e and PF get along??
I enjoy every edition. Except 1st. To hell with 1st.

I'd happily play in a Pathfinder campaign.

I'd run a Pathfinder campaign if the players bribed me with quality single-malt Scotch on a regular basis (which isn't exactly a 'no'...).

Ill run or play 5e gratis.

(that is, unless unforeseen issues crop up).
