Yeah, I definitely used to care about going to the movies a lot more than I do now. A lot of that is personal (associations with a friend who's passed), but the lock down certainly didn't help.I'm mostly there now too, which makes me a bit melancholy....
That happened in the comics too.I am feeling sorry for the shield. It is suffering from the Worf Effect - it is mainly used to show that the enemy is tough enough to break it.
He'd better stay in good with the Wakandans, repairs and replacements are hard to come by.I am feeling sorry for the shield. It is suffering from the Worf Effect - it is mainly used to show that the enemy is tough enough to break it.

Completely agree. I do think those examples are different, but narratively they are similar to the Worf Effect. The only "mere mortal" I think might have legitimacy in breaking Cap's shield is a very angry Banner-Hulk, and only maybe. The shield has been damaged a few times (five, I think) in the comics, but that's been by people with godlike powers - Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet, Molecule Man without his psychological blocks, Doctor Doom infused with the power of the Beyonder, Odin's brother after he had fed on the fear of an entire planet, and by Thor wielding the Odin-force.
It being significantly damaged by mere mortal forces is inappropriate, in the comics or otherwise.
Yeah, I keep hoping it's just a phase.I want this to do well!
But ... I remember when I was always super-excited for a new Marvel movie. Now? Meh.
