But ... I remember when I was always super-excited for a new Marvel movie. Now? Meh.

Yeah...is it weird that I want to be more excited, but I just can't? Shouldn't the part of me that wants to be excited for it...just be excited?

I might go so far as to say THE best. Endgame was more satisfying because of what it did, but it was not necessarily a good movie on its own terms.

I'm not sure I'd go that far, primarily because it plays around in a different space from most of them. Much like I wouldn't compare Queen and Dolly Parton, because they're doing different kinds of music. They're both great at what they do (well, did in the case of Queen), but you can't really say that one is better.

At this point, I'm not really excited about any movie. I only go to the theatre a couple/few times a year.

I am way more excited about seasons of TV shows premiering than I am movie releases.

Much like I wouldn't compare Queen and Dolly Parton, because they're doing different kinds of music. They're both great at what they do (well, did in the case of Queen), but you can't really say that one is better.

No, I mean if you look at Endgame as a film on its own terms, particularly its writing and pacing, it isn't very good. But as a culmination of the whole of the MCU up to that point, it is a powerful, amazing piece of work.

We went to see A Quiet place Day One and while it was a very good movie, the actual theater experience nearly ruined it -- especially the sounds of car chases and explosions coming from the theater next door whenever the film got really quiet (which it does a lot, because, you know).
