Actually, in reviewing the rules, Kaeleen cannot even use the small size short sword. Since it is a catagory 'light' weapon and it is one size smaller it goes down a catagory. But light is the lowest catagory. So it goes off the scale. If a weapon does this it is unusable by the individual.

Now, if she found a small sized longsword...
Then she would be able to use it as a light weapon at a -2 penalty.

I had a look at XP. I'll be doling out XP via e-mail in just a second. In addition to XP for encounters, I've decided to start giving out a monthly XP award at the rate of PC level x 100 XP per month for active PCs. This game just moves too slowly otherwise. At first level this equates to 100 XP per month just for posting even if nothing else in particular is happening in the game. 200 XP per month for 2nd level PCs, 300 XP per month for 3rd level PCs, and so on and so forth.

The basic jist of things is that all four of you have leveled up. Make sure you all take a feat, too. Grotz, as a fighter, gets two.

Wow, that's a nice surprise!

I think I'm going to give him Skill Focus (Listen) because I've been relying on that a great deal in the flavour text and yet I didn't take it in the first place.

Edit: OK, now I'm a bit confused. Having looked at hafrogman's table (nice work, hfm ), I'm not sure if you want us to apply an additional first level feat retrospectively or just start the new system from here. Personally, I think it makes sense just to go from here.

It makes sense to go from here but I really do want to play with the feats and experiment to see how they all work. This is kind of a golden chance, in that respect. Roleplay and background objections aside, I prefer to just backdate feats too. So that would be two feats right now for Elyan, Karl, and Kaeleen, and three feats for Grotz. Strahd, one of your three feats needs to come from the fighter bonus list but the other two slots are open. PHB only, all.
