CG vs. LE: Chaotic Good is Victorious!

PJS: [sblock]Forgot how restrictive the swim speed was. I'm assuming because they are Sorcerer spells he needs to be able to speak - if there is a dragon-y exception and he could cast while underwater, then moving he'd do that and just use his movement to get close to the surface. If not, he'd go straight up to get his head out and cast.

Thanks for the help.[/sblock]

Ugulu, Mods: [sblock]ASAIK, there's no restriction on casting underwater, verbal components or not. You should be able to cast fine (I personally allow it). I have seen some reasonable houserules, though, like saying that it detracts 5 rounds from your breathing.[/sblock]

I am with Infiniti on this one.

Round 377

Jibba casts a spell underwater, then barely gets his head up to the surface, at 100N95E-5Z.

Livox[sblock]Even though you do not hear the spell being cast, from Jibba's motions you can tell that the spell is shield.[/sblock]

Livox will cut loose with an encouraging blast of fire, and move to 90n65e (ie not over the edge of the VZ plate)

Note: JJ prolly has cover against this. If Livox thinks that escaping the blast completely is possible (improved cover) he will cast his healing spell instead, with the same move.

(no spoiler needed) - i was wondering if there was a difference between a creature using a SLA ability underwater (I've done it a lot with devils), and a creature using real sorcerer spells. The latter are basically "think and it's done" affairs, so I wondered if the latter would have more restrictions.

Needless to say I like the current result. :)

Jibba does not dodge the fire (20+2=22 Ref save) and takes 35 points of fire damage. Jibba is not encouraged by the blast of fire and has 120 HP remaining, with an additional 2 points of nonlethal damage.

Livox[sblock]You can use breath weapon next round.[/sblock]

JJ will attempt to get dry, and move to 85n90e.[sblock]Attempt: move south then the last 5' west as to avoid an AoO. If still has Std Action, take a tail slap.[/sblock]

Round 378

As Jibba moves towards his destination, Livox smacks him with an AoO tail slap (rolled 40) for 21 points of damage. Jibba has 99 HP remaining.

Jibba tries to tail slap back, connecting (rolled 43) for 17 points of damage. Livox has 179 HP remaining.

Mod Q: [sblock]Should I be getting damage totals on the absorbed breath weapons? JJ knows about the P/f/Energy via spellcraft, but w/o knowing the damage roll, I have no way to judge how much is left.[/sblock]

Ugulu[sblock]I never thought of that. Gansk never gave that information, but it would make sense that you know how much you rolled for damage. You would not know if anyone in the area of the breath weapon made saving throw or not. The two breaths dealt 51 HP and 62 HP of damage.[/sblock]
