Greyhawk is the 'sample setting' provided in the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide, and it is illustrated with a massive hex map by the awesome Mike Schley.
He had a half-off promotion earlier this month. I picked up a ton of stuff. I used to be able to do online printing through Staples using the “blueprint” option. It was great. Big color maps for under $20. But then they changed their website algorithm and now it kicks it back if there’s not enough white space.Mike Schley has said that, later this year, it will be possible to buy both printed copies and high-res digital files from him.
I've actually been planning out using Keep on the Borderlands with the Castilian being a Orc commander who needs help with a canyon full of Bandit gangs to protect trade routes. The Corrals of Chaos?
Nice reversal of roles. I usually ran my GH "traditional", not because of some nonsensical purism, but because of nostalgia, but I would sign up immediately to play in a campaign like this.I've actually been planning out using Keep on the Borderlands with the Castilian being a Orc commander who needs help with a canyon full of Bandit gangs to protect trade routes.
The Flannaes is like the size of Africa, and was originally detailed in 32 pages. Real easy to just say "Dragonvorn, Tieflings and Goliaths have always been there, and Orcs are people". So easy, I doubt they will say it out loud!Which I can understand but not sure a complete overhaul for 576 CY was really needed. At that time period Greyhawk was human centric.
If they wanted to add the new races bring in them in the 600s due to portals, migration, etc.
I guess it's not really that big of a deal but just strange to me.
Oh, I'll leave the Orcs in Caves of Chaos, too: just remove the children and make it clear all those guys could be good or evil, it is about their choice to ne there and be bandits.Nice reversal of roles. Wherever the cattle roam, obviously.Where do the Cowboy Orcs live?
Yeah, I was thinking that too. It's interesting what they included vs. didn't.But interestingly, no marking for where the starship is located. Also no reference for the Against the Giants or Forbidden Shrine of Tamoachan down South, which they have published.
The City of Greyhawk had like 15,000 humanoids and demi humans living in it in the old boxset. With Orcs, Goblins and the like explicitly being able to come and go from it.Which I can understand but not sure a complete overhaul for 576 CY was really needed.
