So sorry, but your timing is just off. Games Plus will also be having a special open gaming weekend on March 31 and April 1 to celebrate our 25th Anniversary! Current plans are to have a day of retro gaming on the 31st, all games that were available in '82. These will be rpgs, board games, and miniatures games. Probable games include Basic D&D, Star Fleet Battles, Dark Tower, French Foreign Legion (minis), Encounters, Nuclear War, Call of Cthulhu.

Good old Nuclear War. I keep meaning to pick up that tin.

Man.... I might have to try and come home for that too. That's badass!

Stupid school. 2 more semesters of being stuck in freaking Champaign.

Congrats, Curt (& co), on the impending 25 years! I don't stop in there as often as I'd like...

Did you drop a note at Evil Hat about "Spirit of the Century", yet? (Not that I am buggin' ya?) ;) Thanks, buddy!

And as long as you're looking for that, ask them for Don't Rest Your Head, too, so people can buy their own copy after I run it. ^_^

OR, better yet, you could stop by IndiePressRevolution.com, since they sell not only Evil Hat stuff, but also a vast panoply of the best independendly published games. Not to mention Brennan Taylor is awesome... (and I told him last GenCon I'd try to get you guys to check IPR out and just haven't been in there to tout it).

Thanks. I am getting in touch with IndiePress, I just need to figure out my order.

Oh, how I wish Chicago Gameday was actually held in Chicago. Still, I have really gotta make the long-ass Metra ride out to 'burbs for this thing, some day.

I don't think it's TOO terrible a ride--just ask Mark CMG, he's done it for quite a few Gamedays. I think he's sort of like Batman, in that he usually swoops into threads with useful information unexpectedly, but just to be sure...

*puts up the Mark CMG signal*

C'mon out, it'll be fun. :)

Arg!!!

A game of Star Fleet Battles (not that I know the rules from '82, I think I started playing in '85 or '86) and I won't be able to make it! Heck, I still have all my SFB stuff. Horrible game (slow) in retrospect, but I _really_ liked it for a LONG time. Nuclear War might be more fun for me now...

What is encounters? Cosmic encounters existed around then (I played in '87?) but I don't know encounters....

I live on the Northwest side of Chicago. I could jump on the metra at Jeff Park and be there in about a half hour. I do normally drive and would be open to car pooling if people request it. Just let me know and I would be happy to arrange a pick up.

Also do we have a flyer yet? I can make BW prints and hang them around campus.

I was waiting until the schedule was set before I whipped one up. If we need it soon, I can have something done by Sunday. Maybe "Sweet Sixteen" themed :D

It *is* a fifty minute trip by train, plus whatever it takes to get to Ogilvie Station, downtown. However, if you do come out by train, be sure to get the five dollar weekend pass on the Metra train. It's a substantial savings.

Sorry for the latest of my game description. Looking after my father (bad health) all last weekend and a funeral for my step-brother this week has pulled me away from such duties. I'll get to it soon.
