Hi

Sorry to chime in before any of your players have arrived...but can you talk a little about how you are combining CoC/D&D3E/FR? Nothing that will give it away for the players, but maybe just a "Core Ethos Statement"? (heh, heh...) Sounds like an awesome idea to me...

Thanks,
KT

Hi, Kaemris. :) Thanks for your interest. I'm pretty excited to get this thing rolling. I don't really want to give too much away for the players, but I can tell you what I'm aiming for with this campaign — I want to take the Forgotten Realms and all of its little bells and whistles (the gods, the organizations, the politics) and really turn it on its head by introducing a large amount of unknowns and things that just exist beyond the consciousness of the average Waterdhavian, so to speak. I'm really interested in making the Realms, something that I'm sure most if not all of my players (and myself) are really familiar with through computer games or through older FR campaigns, and make it alien and "other."

Hey nick! I posted my character in the rogues gallery thread, I also changed the Personality paragraph I had, it seemed rather bland. Anyway I made a little reference to a 'Commander Montaril Arauta' who is someone Sir Danilk looks up to, I just made up his rank and name so tell me if it infringes on anything.

Hey quick update while my work's firewall is down for maintenance. The video card replacement should be here in a couple of days, and I should be able to get to the library tonight to access a pc so I can post tonight if you want to start it up.
Gotta get back to work, later.

First Move

Then I will post the first move tonight (I'm aiming for getting it up there by 7:00 pm Eastern), responses due back to me by Saturday night. (In other words, I'm posting the Wednesday move one night early.) After that, I will post the next move on Saturday, responses due back in by Monday night....and so on. :)

novyet — I'm going to assume you're arriving on the outskirts of Caerrhen via the Mine Road (western road, eventually a traveler from the Monastery of the Yellow Rose would hit that path on his way to Caerrhen) sometime around the same time the other characters are arriving:

* Sir Danilk, Fezzin — 1100 hrs
* Yanis — 0800-1000 hrs or so
* Daan — 1300 hrs
* Oskar — 1400-1500 hrs or so

That would be around 1000-1300 hrs, give or take (to put you right in the middle...). If you can drop in for a quick post and let me know what you intend to do first, where you intend to go, whatever, I can work with that. Otherwise, I'll start you at the western gate to the village, just outside town (for lack of a better place) and you can go from there.

drs — It shouldn't infringe on anything. :) Thanks for letting me know, though...

bluegreenone — I've read your e-mail. That should work. I'm going to go over it again tonight, and if anything comes up, I'll e-mail you.

Quick change — I've got too many Arkhendeires running around. The Arkhendeire in the Tormguard will stay as is. The owner of the Elk & Star in Caerrhen will have a new last name. :p This is what I get for not paying close enough attention to my naming patterns. :D

Once again, we start tonight, responses due in by Saturday night!

Best,
tKL

One small thing

I should have said that I will have the move up tonight by 7:00 pm Eastern unless we get the thunderstorms that they're predicting for the NE. If there is no move by 7:00 pm EST, then you can assume that (1) there is a nasty thunderstorm going on, (2) I was eaten by bears, or (3) I'm slightly behind schedule and will have it up a little bit late. In the case of (1) or (3), we'll deal with it when it happens.

Best,
tKL

Hey KL, don't know if you knew, but there is actually an official CoC d20 book out.

Yep. It's a great book, too — one of my favorite purchases. :) Thanks for the heads up, though :)...

In other news, the first move is up! As you can see, for the time being (through the Prologue, at the longest), I will be juggling five different timelines, so please bear with me. Also, you can assume that certain descriptions of the town (the pervasive quiet, the buildings, the temple) are things you are all familiar with to one degree or another — I've not the time to retype it every single move, so...also, I realize you will all be reading each move, so I'm trying to keep things moving along. It's good to get going. :)

Questions, commentary, complaints, please feel free to post them here. I'd really appreciate feedback, if you all are cool with giving it.

Best,
tKL

What's the guideline on reading other character's stuff? Should I not read everyone else's? I want to just because it's interesting, but don't want to know anything I shouldn't.
