Depends on what you mean by "cool". If we're talking the character with the most suave I'd have to vote Bond (and did). If were talking about the most interesting or unique character, then I'd have to vote for Ash.

I thought the Bride was an anomaly; a singularly uncool character on a list of cool characters. Then I read through the rest of the thread and saw her mentioned by lots of folks. I guess I must be weird.

Then again, I went with Indy too, only to find out after voting that he's winning by a landslide.

Wow, ya'll must have definitions of cool very different from my own. Ashley Williams???

Voted The Man with No Name, although Indy and Bond are close runners-up.

My vote? Tough choice for me, as I like pretty much all of these characters. I'd have to go with Indiana Jones, as he is a great combination of intelligence, humour, two-fisted fighter, daredevil and cad. My close second is The Bride, followed by Eastwood's "Man with no name."

Me too: Indiana Jones, for combination of intelligent man with a main interest in knowledge, but who is at the same time the perfect pulp action hero.

I do also love Clint Eastwood as this bounty hunter in various Sergio Leone movies. However, where these movies are concerned, I much prefer Lee Van Cleef as "Colonel Mortimer" in "for a fistful of dolars". Really great character: intelligent, elegant, distinguished, and merciless without being evil. I love this character much more than Clint's character in fact.

That's a very good point. While The Man With No Name is full of enigmatic, lone wolf coolnes, he really doesn't have a lot of personality (unless "ass-kicker" is a personality). Lee Van Cleef was great in A Few Dollars More . His character's personality was a great compliment to Eastwood's stoicism.
