You know, reading through that list, it seems to me that Gygax is the reverse of the rest of them. Most of the others had the initial idea/concept, laid the foundation, and then someone else built the skyscraper we recognize as the whole thing. But with D&D, Arneson may have had the initial idea/concept, Gygax did a ton of the work building the first several floors of the skyscraper.

I have a couple of contentions with this stuff, but I think the only really notable one is for Gene Roddenberry. Yes, I accept Gene Coon is the unsung hero of Star Trek, but there list of memorable things noticeable does NOT mention the fact that the bridge crew smashed racial boundaries of the day. If Gene Roddenberry was responsible for that, then I think they (at Cracked) have entirely misunderstood the significance of the show. Hell, there is no half-white/half-black episode without that original boundary crossing factor.
