Cryptosnark ripped me off

Scott is basically trying to be a novelist now. He has turned control and development of DNW over to fans of the game, and the Yahoo group pheonixprojectrpg is being used to develop the next incarnation of DNW. As near as I can tell, he is no longer involved with the Cryptosnark web site; if you want the DNW products (and they're very good, IMO), you're best off buying them from rpgnow.

That would have been 16 december last year...
Yeah, I did notice that... but I assumed, silly me, that if the offer was no longer valid, then he wouldn't take my money.

Anyone that has sent Cryptosnark Games money but have never received what you ordered is encouraged to e-mail me at roninartspresident@yahoo.com. I will send you a free Ronin Arts PDF.
That's much appreciated. It doesn't, alas, solve the problem of how I'm going to get the stuff I wanted from Cryptosnark, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Am I allowed a few days to look through your catalog and see what I'd like best? (I'd tell you sooner, but my internet time is limited over the weekend.)

Can you get your money back from Paypal? I thought they had something in place for when things like this happen????
Yeah, they do... unfortunately, it's limited to 30 days after the transaction, and I didn't find out the goods hadn't arrived until the 37th day. I've reported the incident to them, and they said it's been marked on Scott Lynch's account, but there's nothing else I can do on that front.

Are you in contact with him then? If so, can you tell him I'd like my $20 back (assuming there's no practical way for him to send me what I ordered). As for ordering them from RPGNow, I'm not inclined to send Mr. Lynch more money for something I've already paid for. I'll try Kazaa before I do that. I joined the group you mentioned and downloaded the "Core Rules" document; anything else I should particularly get? (I don't have time to look through all the files at the moment.) Btw, if anyone has a copy of Thaumatech they'd be willing to send me (that's the other product I was especially interested in), my e-mail is wyvern76@hotmail.com.

Well, so far not a single person has taken me up on the offer. So I think you're safe.

Phil, you impress me tremendously.

Thank you.

I ordered a CD also. I was disappointed with what happened but I am still a huge fan of Deeds Not Words. I feel for everyone who didn't get a CD.

I am actually writting some superhero related material and hope to publish next year. I plan to offer a free copy to the first.....X......amount of people who did not get a their CD. I don't know how many I will give out free.

It is a shame that Cryptosnark went under. Scott Lynch is a very talented writer and game designer. Seeing how he took a sheaf of papers for house rules for a superhero games and made it into an actual product inspired me to write and take the advice of my friends finally.

Phillip...you are an awesome guy. I recently looked up Ronin Arts on RPG Now and see that you have some great things there. I may take you up on the offer. I am curious about many things I see that Ronin Arts write now.
