Didn't get around to updating yesterday, and I ended up having to pull some overtime today, so it's still going to be a bit.

Sorry for the delay guys, but I'll get to it eventually..

Is that what you guys call it down in Texas? The lucky blue d20?

You didn't need to tell us about you whipping it out... that's fine to keep it to yourself ;)

No worries IG, take your time. Paragon level encounters are quite challenging what with all those immediate actions.

Ahh, IG, you are right! Thanks for pointing that out. Very good point...and one, in fact, that I think Talashia can use to her advantage. That Stun power was an area one right? Close Burst?

Oy! Doesn't matter! IG? I may need a significant rewrite on this next round. :)

When the moth pulls its stun attack, Talashia can use Slaad's Gambit as an Interrupt. It teleports her 7 squares (thus avoiding the attack), and then does damage to the moths. From there, she'll not be stunned. This will let me use Spark Form and an AP to put a Howling Tempest around Caerwynn...and then move my Hurricane so as to give Rogash some breathing room.

Ahem. I know that's a lot. I assumed that being stunned would stop me from using any of Talashia's interrupts...of which she has several. The realization that interrupts -precede- the stun, opens up a world of possibilities.

Ok, I'm still smack in the middle of a work week, but I think I'm ready to start tackling this thing. The way I see it is this:

Essentially, we go back to Post 29 The attack that triggered Talashia's interrupt was the last attack rolled, so everything before that still stands. From that point, Talashia should be able to roll her interrupt. I'll then update with a description of the rest of the moth swarm's turn, and then Talashia can go again since she's first in initiative order.

BEFORE we do any of this, I want to make sure this massive retcon is kosher with everyone. If even one current player has issues with it, we'll continue on the path we're on now and call it a case of "we'll know better next time."

In any case, please refrain from posing IC until we get the vote.

On another separate, but related topic, I have another question for you:

Would you all rather your actions be considered in initiative order, or more a "first-to-post/first-to-act" order? For those of you familiar with the rules credited to Mal Malenkirk, that's pretty much what I'm talking about. I can't find the post now, but something tells me renau1g probably knows exactly where they are. ;)

Thanks.

Personally, I prefer actions to be in initiative order.

And I'm totally ok with Shayuri sending us back in time to resolve the immediate interrupt.

I believe my good friend Huey Lewis can say it better than I can

BTW: I generally prefer the initiative order myself vs. Mal's rules. It becomes a bit too game-y I have found. That's me. It's finding the balance in PbP gaming of moving things along and playing the game as its written. There just is a lot of ooc stuff that happens with the free-form init.

For those not familiar with it, Mal's rules are generally this:

he posts all defenses and hp of the monsters along with their basic attacks and any interrupts they have. The point is that if you draw an OA, roll it yourself. Also, you know if an attack hits or not right away. And you know if an attack kills the monster or not. Saves some retconning if necessary.

Also, all monsters go then all PC's and vice versa. Leads to some more swing-y combat as both sides can focus their attacks on one person.
