A pair of boots tumble out-- no, not a pair. One is black and tall and shiny and slender, the other dusty, rainstreaked brown...with a pinkish leg-bone sticking out the top.
My compliments on the level of gore in your phrasing. I think I actually shuddered when I read it.

Balance, in all things.

Thanks kindly to you! Everyone's full of compliments today. Not saying I mind. :p

heh, if you shuddered at that CB, you have a low threshold. Of course, I also taught anatomy classes with one hand eating a sandwich, and the other inside body cavities. So I may not be the best judge. ;)

Just confirming that I do, indeed, have a low gore tolerance. There's a reason why: 1) I chose law instead of medicine; and 2) can't/don't watch horror movies.

Although...gimme a good homicide investigation any day of the week. Life. It's a dichotomy, eh?

...I'll just rub out the part of the campaign that was an extended tour of the Tower of Incarnate Pain, the Living Plane of Neth, and the first 200 layers of the Abyss (in reverse alphabetical order), then, shall I? Aheh.

While the compliments are pouring, let me add that it's a real privilege to play Planescape with someone who really gets the setting. Thumbs up.
