Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

D&D Direct, WotC's new video-format announcement show launches today at 9am PDT (5pm BST). If you aren't able to watch it, I'll be updating this article live. Feel free to comment below! The point of my post was more about inflation. I think there may have been some price hike if this had just been one book.

I'd be fine with that. I believe someone pointed out that inflation is about 20% since 2014, when the price was originally $50. That would make a fair price $60.

Instead, the do a slipcase and three books for $70. And I don't like it!

Personally, I'm not really concerned about the price point, I just don't like getting only 192 pages on a subject matter that would warrant a deeper dive.

Plus, a 64 page hardcover just rubs me the wrong way. Hardcovers should be for meatier books (personal belief here).

Yeah, this is the real nit-picker for me. When I first say the announcement, I assumed that this was three full-sized books; a full campaign setting, a monster manual (not as big as the MM itself but still big) and a full adventure. I assumed we'd be able to buy it all at once, and then later you could buy them all seperately.

The reality is much less great than this.

Beadle and Grimm, those are a luxury item(s) and I high production value that I still can’t make the call to purchase yet even though I like the ones they’ve put out. WoTC i books 50-70 is not in my opinion.
