The first round and tournament overview can be seen here. As you can see, there were some very close contests - Midgard beating Ptolus 22-19 and the Scarred Lands just edging the Iron Kingdoms 21-20; I was tempted to have tiebreakers for victories less than 3 or so, but didn't want to drag this out too long.

Anyhow, here's Round 2. Attached is the tournament draws thus far. Please vote! We only had 68 votes in the first round - please vote this time so we can push it over 100.

Its hard to imagine this not turning into a Greyhawk-Forgotten Realms face-off, but you never know.

My one questionable vote here was Spelljammer over Planescape. In the end I probably like Planescape a little more, but I don't think Spelljammer has a chance and I really respect is "disco originality."

Poor Spelljammer, we knew thee well. And by "knew" I mean "read and never played."

But damned if it wasn't awesome.

Cheers!

Prognostication: Planescape wins!

(There tends to be a batch of people who like PS around here...or at least less people who outright hate it than hate other settings!)

I'm saddened but not surprised to see Kara-Tur losing to Dark Sun... Kara-Tur has always been really awesome because it didn't shy away from trying to kitchen-sink a multitude of asian cultures and periods into a single setting. Kozakura vs. Wa, Shou Lung vs. T'u Lung, Tabot, Malatra, the Wu-Haltai, etc. This setting was put together by people who had a passion for real asian cultures and it shows. I think it is probably due to the fact that it is a Forgotten Realms sub-setting that it is handicapped.

Then again - I love looking at the entire FRIA map showing Faerun, Maztica, Zakhara (al Qadim) and Kara-Tur all integrated and also showing the Realmspace Spelljammer solar system to realize just how much work went into integrating all these campaign sub-settings together as semi-seamlessly as they did.

I am also surprised to not see the Hollow World Mystara sub-setting in the poll...

I also can't believe that the Dungeon Crawl Classics Known Realms (World of Aereth) got no love... All the copies on ebay are $135+.
