D20 Modern - What do we know/want?

Yes, armour in Spycraft does modify Defense bonus. Actualy the armour defence bonus replaces your class bonus. Something I don't personaly like. I do like the idea that medium and heavy armours do decrease you bonus, since you are a slightly easier target to hit.
Well, heavy and medium armor should limit mobility but does not reduce them. That's why capping Dex bonus to defense is the better mechanics.

I would like to see a Class Base denfense score much the same as you have a Class Base attack score. Armour then modifies that densese score (usaly negitively) and provides DR for both Wound and Vitaility.
I once championed that armor should provide both armor bonus and DR, but was shot down immediately, stating that armor does not make you harder to hit.

I have to admit, I am beggining to accept that fact, like I have to accept ENTERPRISE as part of Star Trek canon lore. :p

Hmm...That is a good point. Limiting Dex is what is currently used to show restrictiveness. So there is no point to have Armour that makes you easier to hit (ie lowers your defence) and a Dex Limit.

If I were to create my own d20 varient. (in my infinate free time of course :D ) I would rather see a "Mobility" penality for each type of armour, that would be both the "Armor Check" penality and the "Defense" penality. Then I would get rid of Max Dex Bonus.

Personaly, I think that someone with a 16 Dex is still going to be more mobile in full plate then someone with 12 Dex. But the upside of the Max Dex Bonus is that Fighters can just have a 12 in Dex and not worry about mobility in heavy armours. So the Max Dex Bonus is a good mechaninc, it just does not fit my model of reality. :). (BTW the colour of the sky in my world is pasely)

That's because I do not want to penalize those with low dex with further penalty. These characters must rely on armor to compensate their deficiency.

Besides, the max Dex bonus only applies to defense. He still retain full Dex bonus to both saving throws and Dex-related skill checks, particularly those affected by the armor's ACP.

I would like to see an in-depth list of modern fire arms for D20. CoC and Spycraft just cover enough to run a good game. I'd like a big long illustrated list af various weapons, accessories, etc (if not in D20 Modern, then perhaps a book devoted specifically toward firearms).

Spycraft: Lose VP your staggered.

Spycraft will have the Military Arms and Equipment Guide out in July I believe. It'll have weapons and adjusted damage dice by muzzle velocity. The .357 S&W and the 9mm will do more damage, instead of what it is now in the Spycraft Book.

I'm not able to list the quote (server busy), but when you lose all your VP in Spycraft, you are considered Staggered with the apporiate negatives applied to your actions.

Cool! Thanks for the heads up!
