It looks much better in person. And the colours are much better than the Wand Expert:

Those mesh much, much better than the pinkish colour on the first one. The blue and green works great on both of them, but the purple on the second doesn't clash at all like the light red/pink in the first.

OK Merric - help me out.

In the thread you referred me to they are calling this mini a repaint. Does that mean they think the paint job is bad and therefore must be repainted or that someone already repainted this figure?

I'm a newbie when it comes to the pre-painted plastic stuff.

I believe it simply means this is an alternate painting of the mini which is made in limited nubmers(tournament packs, etc).

The figure was given out at Spring Revel Down Under, and it is possible that it uses an alternative paint job that won't be found in the commercial version. Personally, I think it's just a preview figure - the paint job is what you'll get.

This is in contrast to the "evil" Elminster that Ed Greenwood was giving out at GenCon: that one was a definite repaint (into the colours that Ed Greenwood wears when he's dressed up as Elminster. )
