So, how many players and DMs talk about things in between sessions?

I've run into players that talk to players about things, but it seems rare that they approach the DM with compliments or complaints, or just comments. I try to promote dialogue between DM and PC when I DM, but I really think none of the current players will really do it. And if they do it will be like they are walking on eggshells.

We talk about the campaigns we play in all the time. Out of the 7 people in our group, there are three of us that have a campaign to DM depending on who can get together. We're always talking about our characters (upcoming feats, what's next on the to-do list, etc.) and about the adventures we've had. It's very open. At the end of every session that DM asks how it was, what can be improved, etc. We tend to talk more about it the next day in email, too.
