Disney Gets In Bed With Sora

maybe now it'll be a B-List Disney character starring in AI-generated experiments to get us froggies comfortable with that warm bathwater.

Bingo. I mean its just going to be an absolute horror show. If you arent looking close, there are already examples of videos being generated that you go 'wait what?'

With Disney going in on this, well imagine how much they will save by having some guy type up some prompts on his lunch break, while they fire off....massive amounts of staff?

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH.

Worst naughty word timeline.

I mean at this point I'm going to need to go smack my brothers head into a wall a few times, as of last year he had quit his secure job to 'become a digital artist' like bro...you missed your window by a good 10 years.

Yeah, we are going to see trial balloons with this kind of thing pretty soon. Yesterday, I would have said it was with one of the 1950s movie stars who've licensed their likenesses, but maybe now it'll be a B-List Disney character starring in AI-generated experiments to get us froggies comfortable with that warm bathwater.
the future is now and it's gonna suck for a time, but the eternal optimist in me knows there's a good future ahead at some point.

I honestly wished we could skip past the trauma/legal fights and have everything figured and workout fairly but that isn't how the real world works sadly gotta endure the labor pains before the baby comes. Right now Suno the ai music company is redoing how they operate due to entering an agreement with WMG, which allows WMG signed artist to opt in to letting suno train on their music. Currently form my understanding when you use it, it says no can do if your try to use an artist's name in the style guide. They were sued i think last year over training their models on various artist.

You mentioning the 1950s movie stars, makes me think about the little news that happened when they did a digital recreation of just the face of Steve McQueen for sheryl crow's Steve McQueen music video and last year at comicon we had the Stan Lee hologram.

I can easily imagine a Fast & Furious prequel "starring" Burt Reynolds coming in the next five years.

And I'm sure Universal is kicking themselves for not using the appearance and voice of Judy Garland for Wicked: For Good.

This is NOT the same thing as AI genrated uses of those people.

But we have already seen actors give rights to their likenesses and voices -- James Earl Jones being the highest profile. They will be making Darth Vader say whatever they want with JEJ's voice forever.

Resistance is futile.
Burroughs was a lot of things, good and bad, but he was also eerily prescient.
“What does the money machine eat? It eats youth, spontaneity, life, beauty, and, above all, it eats creativity. It eats quality and shits quantity”.
William S. Burroughs

At some point I think the end result will be plays/ballet/opera become really popular as tv/movies just become AI mass produced garbage.

Opera being popular in the future means we get a reason to wear opera capes and blaster pistols so maybe it all works out?
This theory seems to be completely at odds with the past 40 years of mass entertainment. I don't think there is a force on Earth that can make Opera "popular entertainment" again. If Cop Rock didn't do it...

Here's the thing: They have been recycling the same characters and shows over and over again for decades. Need to make some money on Beauty and the Beast? Let's "freshen it up" and make a live action version. We need a big name - let's get Emma Watson! But she can't sing! That's okay because we have auto-tune!

By having AI do all their animating, they'll save piles of money on artists and actors and be able to put out way more recycled crap. But that's what they do. You will have to look other places for original content.
