Divine Lightning Bolt

How the heck do you get a Divine Lightning Bolt?

In MotW, the Hexer prestige class has the requirement of "Able to cast Lightning Bolt as a divine spell." At first I was thinking that lightning bolt was a domain spell for a some domaisn, but if it is I can't find that domain.

The Hexer prestige class is designed for Adepts. The Adept is an NPC class described in the DMG. They cast divine spells, and have Lightning Bolt as a 3rd level divine spell.

Well, it might be a domain spell in one of the FRCS domains, but I don't think they would do that with a non FR book. I don't have FRCS handy right now anyway, so I can't check. otherwise, I suspect it might be a misprint, and maybe they mean Call Lightning, but that is little more than a wild guess.

By jove, I think that fellow above has it! Adepts, do indeed gain lightning bolt as a 3rd level divine spell. How strange that that would make a prestige class that all but requires levels in an NPC class.

Thanks, I knew the answer had to be a simple one.

Shugenja from Oriential Adventures also can learn Lightning Bolt as a 4th level divine spell. A Shugenja/Hexer would probably be horrendously unbalancing though.

That's because OA shugenja aren't divine spellcasters in the usual way that D&D treats them. They're meant to serve as replacements for both clerics and wizards, hence they get access to boom spells.

Why?
