Divine Power - Finally some nifty new toys for the clerics and paladins out there...

I'm eagerly awaiting DP so I can compare my Domain houserules. Wizard's implementation sounds similar to mine, so I may be able to splice the two.

As for the overabundance of radiant damage - I just made a list of gods and their associated damage type. Prayers now deal a type of damage based on your deity.

Plus, all the evil paladins and clerics still shoot radiant damage. It's only weird when you consider Vecna.

I assume that people bothered by evil divine powers being radiant haven't read the DMG. From page 163:

Divine Evil

Evil and chaotic evil deities have clerics and paladins just as other gods do. however, the powers of those classes, as presented in the Player’s Handbook, are strongly slanted toward good and lawful good characters. Players might find it jarring to fight a paladin of Zehir whose weapon erupts with radiant light.

You can alter the nature of powers without changing their basic effects, making them feel more appropriate for the servants of evil gods: changing the damage type of a prayer, for instance, so that evil clerics and paladins deal necrotic damage instead of radiant damage. When a prayer would blind its target with holy light, it might instead shroud a character’s eyes with clinging darkness. holy fire consuming a foe with ongoing fire damage might become a coating of acidic slime that eats away at the flesh, or a purple hellfire with identical effects.

Got DP. Can't wait for the stuff to hit the character builder - I'm making pregens soon, so I want to use it. :D

I did notice that a lot of the domain power boosters effected the Melee cleric powers.

It's anti-life energy. Radiant is god energy (also light).
Radiant is also Lovecraftian Horror Energy. Starlocks and many of your high powered Aberrations use Radiant energy.

Ultimately, Radiant energy seems to me to be the Astral Sea mojo.

Domains basically just offer extra feat and channel divinity powers to divine characters that follow a god with the appropriate domain.

Interestingly, each domain feat also has an associated At-Will power, which it boosts a little, and there is not a single domain, that is associated with Sacred Flame (all other cleric At-Wills are there, of course, in abundance). I wonder, if that is intentional, considering, that Sacred Flame is clearly the best cleric At-Will power. ;)

Are there any new Heroic Feats that a Paladin might be interested in taking?
Yes.

Setting aside the racial ones, lets see...

One feat gives you +1 healing surge, adds your Cha to HP healed with Lay on Hands.
One feat adds your Str to your Divine Challenge damage.
One feat grants you, when you use a healing surge, Resist All equal to your Wisdom bonus until the start of your next turn.
One feat grants +1 to attack after using Channel Divinity.
One feat grants you a +1 to attack if you or the target of your attack is adjacent to a bloodied ally (Cha 15 Pre-Req)
