DnD 3.5 (Eberron) Elemental Evil, the Return

Sorry for the delay on my character, real life came up. Are Dragon Disciples Eberron appropriate? I had an idea that I thought was pretty neat for a Valenar Battle Sorcerer who was cursed by the Keepers of the Past with a traitor ancestor that served the dragons during the elf/dragon war.

Great, I just read about this in more detail. Why do I do stuff like that? A pox on you and your really cool looking games I can't play in Lobo!

Dice rolls

Not sure if Eberron uses the same pantheon as the core rules so I did use it, if it is otherwise I can adjust to a similar diety.

Laklon and the team charged into a burning barn to find a couple of young boys that had crawled into the loft for a warm place to sleep and with the blessings of Sovereign Host were able to save them.

Disgrace: The team was run out of a small village when the Jade Dragoons were able to rabble rouse a mob into believing Laklon was a radical priest of the Dark Six sent to force the conversion of all in town to join his faith or suffer his wraith. Dispite many attempts to reason the mob got closer and closer to full violence and the group fled rather then harm the villagers

Hated enemy: Rix a vicious kobold cleric who consistantly takes holy items of other churches and burns them with delight.

Concept 2: Sven "Knifehand" Oscarl (in progress)

Name: Sven Oscarl “Knifehand”
Race/gender: Human male
Class/level: Monk 4
Alignment: LN

Description: Sven is a young human male of just under average height, with a wiry athletic build. He has muddy brown eyes, and a scruffy-looking tangle of brown curly hair- he usually tries to keep it trimmed short, as it quickly becomes an unmanageable mass of tangles if it grows out too much. He prefers to keep his face clean-shaven, and he has the tanned, well-weathered look of someone who spends nearly all his time outside. His body is extensively tattooed, but he usually keeps most of the markings covered. He also has a terrible looking scar slashed across his throat and neck- it seems amazing that he could have survived such a brutal wound. His voice, on the rare occasions when he speaks above a whisper, is a painful-sounding gargle.
Sven typically prefers plain, serviceable clothing, in dark or earth-toned colors. He prefers soft low boots, heavy plain trousers, and a loose-fitting high-collared shirt under a soft leather vest. He only wears a cloak when the weather is truly awful.

Personality:

Background: Sven’s parents were both mercenary recruiters in the service of House Deneith, and they died during the course of the war. Sven was fostered with some distant cousins in Hommlet, but he was far younger than the other children in the household, so he was often found wandering about the village (or, unfortunately, the woods around the town). On one of his excursions, he was attacked by something terrible out in the forest- he can’t remember what it was, and the ranger who rescued him didn’t get a good look at the creature. Whatever it was, the wounds it inflicted nearly killed young Sven- the healing skill of the then-current village priest were just barely sufficient. The wound at his throat was the most severe, and it took much longer to heal than the priest expected. In fact, Sven practically lived at the town’s small temple for several weeks while his physical injury healed- and he spent much more time there afterwards. In fact, he seemed frightened whenever he left the building, and wouldn’t willingly go outside the center of town. The local priest determined to turn that state of affairs to his advantage, and he began to instruct Sven in religious studies. While the boy had no calling or talent for the clerical arts, he was a diligent student, and a hard worker. After a few frustrating months, the priest consulted with the superiors of his order, and they decided to send the boy to a more rigorous sect in a nearby monastery. Sven spent several years there, and he learned the ways of unarmed combat and athleticism. With his initial studies completed, he left to travel the world- and like many of his countrymen he joined the military. A fortuitous paperwork coincidence placed him in a unit with others from his old home ground- but those who remembered him from years ago found him greatly changed. When the war ended, he followed the others back to the village of Hommlet, finding it had changed even more than he had.

Allright, here we go, sorry I took so long, I lost track of the thread (kept getting it mixed up with the other Elemental Evil thread)

And I came up with a refreshing concept I haven't used yet :
Kevin Hunt, spear wielding Ex-military Captain. (Human Fighter 4)
16,18,16,12,16,15. *Wow... nice. :D I'd be willing to drop the 15 to a 10 for balance, and maybe loose a couple points off one of the 16's if you REALLY think it's too high (Though I hope not. I usually roll bad stats, so this is kinda refreshing)*

2 Items lost/Stolen: His mother's Brooch(Unknown if it has magical properties, but she always said it brought her great luck), and his father's Fierce Spear. (A magical spear that was said to be able to peirce anything).
Dealings with the Jade: Shortly after my companions and I started our adventuring career was the first time we ran into the Jade. Both teams had decided to claim 'salvage' on a long-abandoned tomb, but the Jade had arrived a bit late. Wanting to get ahead, they recklessly barged in without proper preparations. We found them a half hour later, stuck in a deep pit fighting off some strange beast, and saved them, though because of their injuries, they had to head home.
The next time we weren't so lucky. Barbarossa led their 'triumphant return' by cutting a rope bridge and dropping ME into a pirahna-infested river. Not one of my favourite days.
Also not one of my favourite people, that Barbarossa. Picture a big, dark, cranky-looking guy with a bad attitude. Now make him smarter.. a LOT smarter than he looks(which admitedly isn't hard), and triple the size of the chip on his shoulder. There's Barbarossa.

Full stats & background will be up in a day or two, depending on answers to these:
I'm pondering a couple feats that're non-core, could you tell me yes or no for them?
[sblock]

from PHB2 - Short Haft : Requires BAB +3, W.Focus. As a swift action, you can choose to lose the benefit of wielding a reach weapon (other than a spiked chain or a whip). In return, you can use that weapon to threaten and attack spaces adjacent to you. Another swift action can give up this feat's benefits in order to use the weapon as Reach once again.

from Complete Warrior - Hold The Line : Requires BAB+2, Combat Reflexes. You may make an attack of Opportunity against a charging opponent who enters an area you threaten. Your attack happens immediately before the charge attack is resolved.
*Normally you only get an AoO against a character that Exits a square you threaten.*

Jeremiah Mondragon

Finally:

Jeremiah is born in Hammlet into dirt poor peasant family as 4th child of six, second son. Being so poor, they were forced to work for living from early childhood. Physically weak (i.e. weaker then his siblings, not really weak as far as city dwellers go) Jeremiah soon found himself working easier jobs all around village. He also took over counting of what little money their land provided and distributing their "wealth" so everybody had basics for living.

His break came in form of local mage/scribe/whatever's available who noticed young boy he used as messenger never took notes and delivered even long and complex messages by memory. He also saw him several times carefully studying one of his book shelves and any open books that happened to lay around. Usualy this would mean boy was preparing to steal something, but as he was known to the man, Jeremiah was spared this suspicion and asked (after some questioning) would he be willing to learn for a scribe. He eagerly accepted and his parents were happy to have one less mouth to feed. He had given most of his income in the next few years to his family.

His talent for magic was discovered accidentally when he spilled tea over some freshly aquired spell page his master wanted to scribe to his spellbook. Jeremiah was actually looking it over fascinated by complex writing of magical runes. To avoid punishment he carefuly from memory rewrote the runes hoping for the best. He succeeded and master Merek Silvercross (change name if there is NPC that fills the role in Hammlet) took him as an apprentice.

After learning for several years Merek sent him ever often to fetch him this or that component, bring tome from city library and occasionaly recover something from hard to reach or dangerous places...

[Bad encounter] Upon one such occasion he ran into Jades or rather they ran into him leaving a ruin having recovered family seal that Merek asked for. They were tasked with same by another sage. And they had no compulsions attacking me, taking what they needed and leaving me practicaly naked to return to Hommlet. For this I blame their de facto leader Demenis Art, charismatic priest of Savras.
Items taken: cloak of resistance +1 and pearl of power.

Learning from experience Jeremiah hooked up with similarly minded youngsters and formed "Justice Brigade" :) as he internaly calls his group.

[Good encounter] Returning the favor, our group found Jades finishing up a dungeon. As we arrived they needed just a little bit of help from us and that was of course provided. But WE took the spoils, leaving exhausted Jade Dragoons safe and sound without anything to show for their trouble.

Karna Pandrylthal

Background:
[sblock]Karna was born under the sign of Rilmorn Dragonspawn, infamously known as a traitor in Aerenal's war agains the dragons. Karna would later come to decide that he was in fact a hero, as he sacrificed himself to bring his fellow elves important information about the dragon's weaknesses.

Knowing that no personal interpretation of Rilmorn's actions would blunt the shame of Karna's patron ancestor, her parents sent her away to live with a retired dwarven soldier living in Hommlet.

Karna grew up learning the arts of forge and swordsmanship from her adopted 'uncle' and ways to practice and expand on her bloodline's innate magic from books sent with her by her parents. The most prominent among her small library being the life history of Rilmorn, written in her mother's hand.

When the call to war came, the choice was easy. Karna's young friends of all races were going, so would she.

Good Encounter: The time Karna intimidated a small group of goblins into backing down when the group was raiding some ruins of their old empire. Her personal take was an ancient Dhakaani tome on dragon worshippers.

Bad Encounter: Karna hates to be reminded in any way of the group's escapade in a swamp when she was badly wounded by a particularly sneaky orc.

Lost Items: The books she had collected on draconic lore and her ancestor patron.

Hated Enemy: A mostly civilized half-orcish warrior. After learning of the swamp story he takes every opportunity to bring it up in Karna's presence.

Karna is a female elf, tall and muscular by her own race's standards, but still average in height and wiry compared to a human. Her straight auburn hair is kept tightly tied back in a short pony tail and would barely come down to her shoulder if it was allowed to hang free. Her skin is an odd slightly coppery tan that few elves achieve and is a stark contrast to her blue eyes.

I have a question about those skill combinations. How do they affect synergy bonuses, and do we use Wis or Int for Notice?
All the normal synergies apply except when the synergy is between two of the skills that are combined (because that would just give you free ranks).

Wisdom for Notice.

Dragon Disciples are appropriate. I'm thinking they're most common on Argonassen or the nearby islands. Maybe you were trained by a wandering disciple? Or by a dragon who does not live on Argonassen.

Holy matching socks, Batman. What's with all these RttToEE games that keep appearing?! Erg, if I wasn't already about to start playing in another one I'd love to play this one. Eberron is refreshingly slightly less generic than most D&D. Well, I'd love a Planescape game but I take what I can get.
Please don't tempt me. I love me some planescape... no. running 2 games and playing in another is enough... isn't it? LOL
