Do other players you know surf EN World, or do they only visit 'official' sites?

I am the only person in my game group that visits EN World. :( I've tried to get others to do so.

Of course, some just don't waste their time surfing D&D internet sites. :D

A couple say they're not very interested in sites that aren't 'official'. They visit the wizards site, but EN World just isn't worth their time. One player says he also visits Monte Cook's site because it seems 'more official' (than other 'non-official sites).

Is this a widespread attitude among those who visit D&D-related websites?

I know two lurkers in person that don't seem to use Wizards Site. Personally, I only use wizards weekly and monthly DnD extras, like Mind's Eye for psionics. I see there adds, so they are getting what they want out of me, I guess...

I showed my friends the way to several gaming sites. Despite the fact that they have better web acces than I do, it still hasn't caught on.....

I'm basically the only guy in my groups that regularly visit the boards. And I started the dang place! :) But it's not that they necessarily go elsewhere; hanging out on message boards a lot is apparently just not their thing.

This is the key, I think. All my players know about this place, and I think they've all visited, but none of them are registered members. I'm a former usenet geek though, so message boards as hangouts just felt natural for me.

I actually try to keep this place secret from my players.

It's nice to have a place where I can talk about my campaign with people who aren't in it!
