Do you happen to dream about D&D (during your sleep)?

Last night, I dreamed someone had decided to give me Eberron for some unclear reason. I was very happy to get that book that otherwise I don't intend to buy (Can't buy everything! especially products I won't use!). But upon awaking I unfortunately realized it wasn't going to happen. :(

Some months ago I dreamed about adventuring: a players of my group and myself were at war with a necromancer. At the end of the dream we teleport into his lair and kill his apprentice. Then, the necromancer also teleports there, but I successfully spot him. Seeing him I scream to my friend: FIIIREBAAALLL!!! QUIIICK!! Unfortunately the guy is immune or succeeds all his saves, so the dream ends as I am grappling the necromancer trying to get his dagger and kill him.

Some years ago, I dreamed I was a 30th level knight travelling into the third layer of the plane of Arcadia, which was entirely glistening, with majestic green mountains and gigantic silver castles.

However, other than that, I very rarely dream of D&D. Do you sometimes dream about of D&D or never? Have you a short dream to tell?

I did dream about getting a series of e-mails from my DM discussing the game. If you dream in E-mails, you are spending too much time on the internet.

I've had a recurring dream about D&D. I wander into some store (sometimes a game store, sometimes a book store, sometimes a store that wouldn't normally sell D&D stuff), and discover among the shelves a previously unknown (to me) 1E AD&D book. It's always an awesome find that will revolutionize my game (despite being two editions out of date-- gotta love dream illogic). Sometimes the dream starts to go fuzzy and fades out or into another when I try to read it, and sometimes I manage to buy it and leave before the dream ends.

Never have figured out what the dream means, although it's been my experience that when I have recurring dreams they usually have some kind of meaning to them.

Of course I am not doctor Freud, but I want to nonetheless suggest you could get a look at Castles & Crudades if you don't already know it. There is a thread on it (although it must be in the third of fourth page) on the general forum, and it's for sale at www.trolllords.com. I say that because this a new game that tries to strongly evocate the 1E AD&D but with d20 kind of rules. Many people are really enthusiast about it, and think it "will revolutionize their game".

Just my 2 coppers of course.

I can´t remember that I ever dreamed of D&D, but it might be possible. Usually, my dreams - if I can remember them at all - revolve around me at school or universitity, and I only dream these dreams during vacation time. I hate it. :)

Sound advice, except maybe that I neglected to mention I was having the same dream when 1E was still the current edition. :)

I think it's probably a variation on a dream I used to have where I'd walk into a store and find a left-over cache of Star Wars toys from the 1980's. Those finally stopped when they started making Star Wars toys again and I bought a load of them. So maybe checking out C&C might help out with the D&D ones (even though I vastly prefer 3E rules to earlier ones).

Now what I'd be curious to hear is if anyone had ever dreamed they were their characters.

When I dreamed I was a 30th level knight in Arcadia, some years ago, I was almost dreaming that I was my 20th level 1E Cavalier.

I remember that almost 20 years ago, I was the DM and one player told me he dreamed he was his PC wizard. As he was a somnanbulist, he awake from sleepwalking (in his house) and "casting fireballs" around. :D

I had a dream that I was a knight (I instinctively knew I was about 3rd level using 2nd Edition rules) riding through the forest when I came to a clearing with an ancient well in the center. An ogre (I don't know how) leaped out and started growling at me. I leveled my lance and charged. Bullseye into the heart and the ogre slumps against the well and dies. Now I'm itchin' for some treasure (I remember saying "Woo-hoo! 275 XP!!!"), and search and loot the well for the ogre's stash. So endeth the dream.

A post script, though was that months later I freaked out when I saw the posters for the first "Shrek" film and realized that Shrek looked exactly like the ogre in my dream!

I still haven't been able to bring myself to watching it, knowing that Shrek is such a nice ogre, and I murdered him rather brutally in my dream. Months before I knew anything about the film's existence. I have a weird life.

Whenever I devote all my time to doing something I usually dream about it. So, I have a lot of dreams where I am at work, just doing my job. Its wierd. However, I don't dream that I am my character in the game. I dream that I am myself, sitting around playing the game. I have had dreams where I am played D&D and also one where I was played Exalted. When Quake2 came out I played it almost non-stop. The sound of rocket launchers still haunt my sleep.... :uhoh:
