Doc Midnight's STILL cutting Character Illustration commission prices in HAAAALF!

My job is making art for people who pay me what I charge, not dipping to ridiculously low prices because they won't pay otherwise.

I think the proper tip here is the "ignore" feature. Actually, most merchants have access to this feature: "Hey buddy, can I buy that car for $50?" <=Ignored offer.

Don't let the huddling masses get you down, Doc! Let them eat cake.

I might consider this when I come back into cash. I had four of my characters done on a full page by Manny Vega at a very reasonable price. No color, but still well worth it. It's hanging on the wall in my living room, waiting for the companion piece to accompany it. Here's a small scan of it:

Can do everything, good at nothing!), Bluestreak: Half-Blue Dragon/Half-Elf Fighter (his draconic side wasn't dominant in his appearance, and he tries to pass off as a tall elf), and Arrow: Grey Elven Fighter/Wizard/Arcane Archer.)

I'm seriously considering commissioning an illustration (or two) for Sepulchrave's story hour. Mostin the Metagnostic (wizard/alienist- gem-like, lidless eyes and a penchant for flamboyant hats), or Ortwin the satyr/bard.

Dr. Midnight, have you followed Sepulchrave's story hour? It's one of the three I read, along with pirate-cat's and your own.

I haven't followed Sep's story hour... I've tried, once or twice, to read the beginning and it just doesn't zap me. Everyone I know just oozes gooey love over it, even in MY story hour thread (dirty bastards), so I'm pretty sure I just have to give it the proper chance.

For now, though, I'm just pissy that his story hour is apparently so good.

buying art is subjective so I will give some of the posters credit, but art is an amazing thing, without words it can evoke emotion and that is a powerful tool. When a great piece of art is shown to me it is great, a PC illo or a painted mini makes the game feel more alive. I am fortunate to be working in the business so I get my art excitement when I order if for the books, or create a cover but evoking emotion on a piece of paper (or comp screen) is a specialty, one you will pay for? Your call, one you feel is a worthwhile investment? Again your call, but if people take the art use it and hang it somewhere and everytime they look at it makes them feel something, that is well worth $100+. I have sold art upwards of $25k before I did what I am doing now so to have an original of anything and pay what you are paying may be a luxury but one that is worth the price paid.

Hes my fav! My new character (Ikaht the All Knowing) is sort of a combination of him and Shomei.

It'd be awesome if doc did those characters!

This is a great idea Doc and I hope it goes well for you. I must say that your asking price came in high for me at first but after taking a look at what you can do, I believe it to be fare.

I have an Evoker, Kronos, that I might have you do. I need to scrape the cash together but I am seriously tempted.

To all you who have had Doc draw up your characters, I think I can speak for for the rest of us when I say, POST THEM! I would love to see more of his work.
