Dwimmermount IC:

Pieter sighs in relief and rubs his wrists where the chains have chafed him after being freed by Klyman.

He looks somewhat skeptical when offered some of MIdgrim's rations. "I don't think I'll be able to eat your.... oh, trail rations! Thank you." His father had always told him that Dwarves eat nothing but rocks and pebbles. Perhaps not everything he had told Pieter of the stone-folk was true?

He gratefully devours the food, and for the first time in many days he feels a glimmer of hope.

"Perhaps Typhon has need of me yet... despite my shameful cowardice, he has still seen fit to grant me spells of healing. But my arms and armour have been taken from me. I would not fare well without them."

[OOC: How is Vidnar reacting to being freed?]

Klyman Sylar

Klyman thinks back trying to remember whether any of the monsters the group defeated were wearing passable armor or using weapons that a self-respecting human cleric might bear. "We might just be able to suit you up with kobold armor and weapons, I'm thinking."

"Arms ain't too much of a problem," agrees Midgrim, polishing this and that off the just-found silverware in his lap. "Can pass you a bow right here, and plenty of koboldy blades in the corridor if that's your poison. Armor though -ptew- <rub, rub>... Might be a bit tight, but maybe we could do something with the chain one of those two at the entrance was a'wearing?"

He considers the just-freed human, brown eyes keen... "Before that though: Climent, yee got some writing implements on yee? Pieter here says he can draw us a map of where he's been. And much obliged." A nod of his helmeted head.

That's worth far more to them than the ration and the incovenience right there, far as he's concerned.

OOC: Midgrim will hand over the short bow and arrows he picked up two rooms back if Pieter wants them.

Klyman Sylar

"Maybe we could cobble together a suit of mail of a more proper size by using two or three of the kobolds' suits? I'm no armorer, but surely two Dwarves...."

"Bows and blades? No, I can't take those." says Pieter apologetically. "It would be a violation of the holy vows I have taken to Typhon. But... if some armour could be found, or fashioned, I would be thankful for it."

[OOC: Not sure how much information/area knowledge Pieter would have as part of Typhon's Fists, perhaps our DM could advise? If too much information is going to spoil the adventure I can rationalise a reason why Pieter can't draw a map or say what's ahead... although Midgrim might be less than pleased... :D]

"I'm no armorer, but surely two Dwarves...."

Midgrin grins and turns around: "Yee hear that, brother? We're being drafted by our heartstrings now."

Before grumblling and shaking his head at Pieter's reply: "What DO so many hume gods have against good steel edges?"

He'd never understood that bit.

OOC: Re map, Midgrim is hoping for an outline + general description of the rooms Pieter traversed coming from the Red Doors. Where those rooms are in relation to the here and now would be the icing on the cake, but cake is still cake, right? :D

Gargrim responds, "Aye brother. I guess I can nae poke this here hume anymores. I suppose we can try an' make some new armor. I mean, how hard could it be, right?"

Klyman Sylar

Hearing the Dwarven brothers' reaction to his veiled (?) challenge, Klyman smiles to himself and says, "Pieter, unless I miss my guess, you'll soon be wearing armor that is the envy of all of us, and for an unbeatable price!" ;)

Pieter is able to sketch a map in the dirt of the floor. It looks pretty bad (due in no small part to my Mad MS Paint Skillz) but one thing he mentions is that until the last room he remembers (marked with the Y) where he was ambushed by the Kobolds the entire area was finished with dressed stone unlike the natural caverns that you have been in. The room with the X is where they encountered the strange skeletons. The rooms were all pretty dull. Looked to be old guard rooms, barracks, and the like. The Fists hadn't found any treasure of note apart from a few old coins.

As for making armour, give me 3 d20 rolls, roll under Intelligence, Dex and Str respectively.

Vindar has spent the entire exchange sitting in the same spot he was in when your released him. He turned his face away from the food, and doesn't even seem to have realized that you've freed him.
