Yes this one is, and then after Xanthar's Guide comes out I want to see the random character generator that they have to make characters for another game.

HOT DOG - Amazon says my Xanathar's Guide should arrive around 8pm tonight. After I give the random character generation rules the once over we will see if we can't experiment with them.

Me too, it is sad I read somewhere they had random character gene rules. I'm thinking of using most of their charts to come up with something myself.

Random char gen? AD&D DMG 1st edition. The personality tables in there were fabulous for generating NPCs. My memory wants to say it was page 91. Off to reset that memory. (drumroll, please) dang, it's 100-101

2D8 = [6, 8] = 14
2D10 = [9, 5] = 14
2D6 = [1, 6] = 7
4D8 = [7, 1, 8, 3] = 19
2D12 = [10, 10] = 20

If you were to go all in I would suggest those charts to give you your personality, but I wouldn't want to make anyone play something they may not like. Let them add the character let the dice tell them what that character is inhabiting.

I will be using those charts for some 5e NPCs though as they are really detailed. Maybe I'll scan the page into a file so I can keep the book in its plastic.

Well it is a NPC personality generator. It's for use when the party ducks into a shop and wants to chat up the owner. Also, players can use the charts to find something they might not have come with on their own.
