The cab driver laughs. "Famous? Karl?! Ha! If you count making a fool of yourself at Joe's as being famous, then aye, Karl's famous! You gents ready then?"

Arthur takes the pie from tthe backseat and holds it gently but firmly. Karl, for the first time, sees the pie in all its delectable glory. His nostrils flare involuntarily. His heart races. His lips twitch. His mouth waters. Desire begins to overcome him...

"oooh myyyy....its the pie" Says Karl in a childlike weepy voice.

Arthur casts a quick glance at Karl.

"As long as it remains intact..."

With a shudder Karl focuses and looks to Arther and nods."*sigh* Ready."

With a new escort, the pie cab begins to make its way down the street again. The misting rain appears to be keeping the parade goers at zero. Or is it perhaps the fiasco earlier? In any case, the trek down Merchant Avenue has become less of a parade and more of a slog.

The street narrows a bit here, where the stalls breach their boundaries just a little more than at other points along the street. Ahead, there seems to be some movement.... Yes, someone, a very large man, by the looks of it, is pulling a cart from the roadside into the middle of the street. The road is now so narrow that the cab could only reasonably travel through a smallish gap between the merchant carts. And now it can't even do that, because the large, muscular man stands right in the center of it, his stance firm, and his hands resting on the handle of a massive, mercy-bound club.

All this takes place about 100' ahead of you. The cab driver slows the horse's pace and says, "Well gentlemen, what would you like me to do now?"

Arthur looks at the large man closely, wondering what he could possibly be doing here.

 

[Scott DeWar]

"Well, We all need to keep our eyes pealed."

 

[Rae ArdGaoth]

It's hard to say exactly from this distance, but judging by his stance, it looks like he intends to block all traffic, and since he's facing this way, he's probably interested in vehicles approaching from this direction.

To be able to tell much more just by looking at him, you'd have to get close enough to see his eyes.

"So. Who is the best fighter amongst us. Looks like he doesn't want to shed unnecessary blood . . . . .

Arthur replies in a reasonably quiet voice :

"To be honest, I don't have any significant fights to my credit. What I can tell you, however, is that I favor defensive fighting."

He turns towards the man before continuing :

"Sadly, I think we may not have any other choice besides confronting this man one way or another."
