how come all of the enhancing stat spells are on the cleric spell list except cat's grace?

Bull's strength
Endurance
Fox's cunning
Owl's wisdom
Eagle's spender

all stats but dex.... anyone know why?

I don't know if this is the reason, but going back to the old days of 1st edition, each of the four main character classes had their good stat and weak stat. For example:

Fighters (High Str, Low Int)
Clerics (High Wis, Low Dex)
Thieves (High Dex, Low Wis)
Magic-Users (High Int, Low Str)

If I remember correctly, if you had a Dex of less than six or so, then that character could only be a cleric.

In 2e, strength gave bigger bonuses to fighters than to anyone else (and only fighters could get exceptional strength. Boo-hiss.)

Cat's grace gave big Dex bonuses to rogues but not to other characters. So much 2e wackiness. 3e is so much better.

I'm guessing when the PH was printed WotC wasn't thinking of drow clerics.

Actually, I don't want spell lists that thinks about Drow Clerics. Many people don't use Drow. It'd be easier to make a note that adds this spell to Drow Clerics list or as a Domain spell if you think it's needed.
