Enterprise 03-03-04

Well, curses. I meant to watch the whole thing, but forgot and only caught the last half, I really wanted to see the Enterprise J.

I did like the battle, but then again my complaint with most space movies/shows is, "not enough space combat". But, they should take a page from Star Fleet Battles and start using those shuttles for wild weasels and torpedo launchers, (of course the show is pre-Star Fleet).

There's only four left? I thought there would have been more than that...
Yep, this was episode 18 and there are only 22 this season, rather than the usual 25. I'm hoping these last few will really end the season with a bang.

Got a little busy over the weekend at the Games Plus auction (Sunday is Minis!) so I missed the regular Sunday repeat of this week's episode. Hopefully I will catch it during the off-season.

Finally got to watch it.

I have mixed feelings about the episode. On one hand the story actually progressed and it had some good space action, but on the other hand I didn't care for any of the plot elements.

Daniels begs Archer not to go...meh. (And really, what does prevent Daniels from repeatedly stopping Archer from going? Or going back to the beginning of the mission and telling Archer who is behind what?)

Sphere aliens are manipulating the Xindi to attack earth...meh. (I actually don't mind this idea but I thought it was poorly presented and revealled.)

Archer's grandiose plan of self-sacrifice...meh. (I think it further demonstrates that Archer is not a good starship captain.)

T'Pol crying...meh (actually maybe she just needs to get it out of her system. She's looked like she was on the verge of tears since the middle of the first season.)

Enterprise getting the crap beat out of it...meh (but it was cool to see, same with the underwater construction site for the weapon).

So where does it go from here? Time travel to "reset" the timeline? An alliance with the primate and other furry Xindi? Something else? With Enterprise so badly damaged, where can they go without making the plot seem ridiculous or contrived? Any predictions?

Ideas that sound good, yet are poorly presented and revealed pretty much describes anything Trek has done in like the last 5 years.

My prediction is that it will suck and waste another hour of my time.
