Enterprise Renewed For Fourth Season

Star Trek: Enterprise fans rejoice! The show has been picked up for a fourth season, as UPN will reveal this morning at the annual "upfronts" in New York. The show, whose future had not been guaranteed, has finally been given the thumbs up by the network. One significant change: It looks like the show will be moving from Wednesday nights at 8:00 p.m. to Friday nights at 9:00. (America's Next Top Model is slated to fill the previous Enterprise Wednesday night slot.)

Like many good shows, it can take awhile for the audience to find it, live with it and see it develop. Enterprise has certainly evolved over the first three years, with the last season providing some great television along an extended story arc that featured a new race, the Xindi.

We at STARTREK.COM are happy to see the show renewed and we look forward to working with the cast and crew for the next season. Congratulations to all!

More news as it breaks ...

Friday night, eh?

Slot o' doom...

I'm not so sure. SPIKE TV has been running ST reruns on Friday nights for a while so they might be able to tap into that audience and get those who watch now to follow.

'Course, I almost never catch Enterprise anyways, so, whatever...

It'll be easier for me to watch it on Fridays, so I'm psyched.

Plus I like to save the Star Trek medicine for weekends, so double that psychitude for this dude.

Oh well. I was hoping it would be canceled so I could finaly stop watching. I have seen every star trek episode and movie and after hundreds of Episodes I don't want to break my perfect streak.

I will either have to tape it or watch the repeat if they are still doing those on Saturday since our Fridays is our game night.

DUM DUM DUM! The dreaded slot of doom! Just look at Firefly! Oh well, I'm not all that into this season. They need to kill off the token characters and focus on the meat and potates--Captain Archer, T'Pol, and Trip!
But that would mean no Reed or Phlox! I say kill Archer and T'Pol as well as
Hoshi and Travis and rename Enterprise 'The Trip & Friends Variety Show'! It
would follow the zany adventures of Tucker, Reed, Phlox and Porthos as they
travel from one spaceport to another righting wrongs and dazzling dames.

Spike have been showing the TNG and DS9 two-parters, which are generally better written and acted than Enterprise and don't need to pull nearly as many viewers to make money. Maybe the Enterprise team will hear the bell tolling and shape up. The only good news is that Friday night means they have pretty much nowhere to go but up - if they even maintain the current anemic viewer numbers, that'll be seen as a success of sorts. Maybe that'll be enough for them to stumble into syndication.

The slot-of-doom isn't as bad now as it used to be, given the use of VCR's. Plus UPN will probably still do the weekend re-broadcast as well. Not surprised it got renewed, as they needed one more season for a viable syndication package. Won't make any bets of a 5th season though.

i am glad it got renewed. i need a show that i can point out what was done wrong, because we all know, there aren't to many of those.
