Wound Enemy
Benefit: Any melee or ranged weapon wielded by the deity damages a creature such that a wound it causes deals 1 point of Constitution damage per divine rank. Multiple wounds from the weapon result in cumulative loss.
Suggested Portfolio Elements: Death, pain, war.

This seems inordinately powerful -- a Divine Rank 10 lesser deity attacking 5 times (haste, Divine Celerity, or similar effect) could deal 50 points of Con in a round, killing just about anything!

Anything subject to ability damage.

*hmmm* *yoink*

But yeah Wound Enemy seems inordinately powerful (then again so do Wounding weapons). I'm more worried about the Divine Rank 5 demigod.

I mean lets say we take into account Two-Weapon Fighting, Improved Two Weapon Fighting and Greater Two Weapon Fighting. So 7 Attacks a round. Throw in a haste spell or a speed effect or such. 8 Attacks/Round. 40 Con Damage. Now maybe 2 of those attacks will miss dropping it to 30 Con damage but thats a *lot* for a demigod. I'm sure I could come up with ways to do more con damage per round if I wanted too.

There's also the Divine Rank 1 demigod with 8 Attacks/Round doing 8 Con damage which is probably a little excessive for a being only just past the threshold of divinity too.

Er, these are gods we're talking about. I think that's fine- imho a war god ought to be able to destroy just about anything on the field of battle.

Remember, folks, gods are designed for 'balance' against pcs. Deities and Demigods is not a Monster Manual.

I don't have problems, in general, with gods being able to kill PCs. I have problems with gods easily killing other gods. Remember, the divine immunity to ability damage doesn't apply to deities of equal or greater rank. Two divine rank 5 demigods fighting each other should have, ceteris paribus, roughly equal chances at killing the other -- at least if they're both fairly martial -- but if one has this Wound Enemy and the other doesn't, it won't even be close.

I'm okay with the mortal killing aspect as well--though it sucks if it happens to you. There's also the possibility of an artifact that protects you against such things if you ever want a PC to have a chance of taking on a god.

CRGreathouse, if that's true then adding a simple, "This ability doesn't work against those of Divine Rank 1 or greater" or some such.

CRG, I agree with your concern re: deity vs. deity action. Hadn't thought of that- a good point. I like Lela's suggestion:
