Evasion - WORST FEAT EVER!!!

OOOO, that would be great!!! ;)

We got Wisdom drained and in a low magic world, I don't think we are getting it back. Fort as a will save would rock. What is that feat called?
Steadfast Determination.

You might have missed the OP's question, werk. Allow me to re-state:

"If you never run into effects that deal half-damage on a successful Reflex save, the Evasion class ability is worthless. Any suggestions for a player in such a situation?"

(How'd I do, DM-Rocco?) :heh:

SO is he asking what regular evasion is good for, or ways to help avoid situations where Evasion doesn't help or ways to apply evasion to situations where evasion doesn't work...like the pit trap?

Maybe I'll just shut up now :D

Spell resistance is a nice way to avoid magical affects that have saves that are all or none or don't have saves. Of course, your GM will just switch to conjuration school spells at that point.

Nothing I know of is going to help you with traps that require reflex saves to see if you take damage or not. They're generally pretty rare.

You don't use your Fort save in place of Will saves; you add your Con modifier to your base Will save instead of your Wis mod.

A 2nd level Barbarian with Steadfast Determination with Con 16, Dex 14 and base saves of +3/+0/+0 will have:

Fort: 6
Ref: 2
Will: 3

When he rages, he'll have:

Fort: +8 (+5 Con, +3 base)
Ref: +2
Will: +7 (+5 Con, +2 morale)

Please don't use 'gay' as a pejorative here. We don't permit it, even with disclaimers explaining what you're trying to get across. I edited the post accordingly.

Thank you Piratecat.

1 no. Improved evasion would, but not evasion.

Technically, that isn't true. Improved evasion still only grants a benefit to those abilities that allow half damage on a save. The ability doesn't say exactly that, but it does say "abilities like a dragon's breath weapon or fireball..." which is to say those that allow half damage on a save. Improved evasion grants no benefit to all-or-nothing Reflex saves.
