Exalted 2nd Edition Game

Yep, that was the plan Figgin. He was going to try to find someone in Lookshy who could help him unlock his Essence and then teach him TMA (since there were a lot of DBs there, he figured there'd be a DB martial artist, and hopes that they can help unlock his Essence). Either that, or he wants to find a way to contact Wanderer when he gets to the city to have him help with the unlocking of the Essence pool part.

Yeah... lol

Out of pique at SMAs in general, I'm now considering switching from Martial Arts to melee. It may also help a little as the 19 Acc attack at the moment is probably gonna give hell to Figgin. Ran through the numbers in my head, and if you add in aim +3 and stunt +2 avg, and you're looking at a 24-die base attack. Anything that can defend against that is gonna be heavily combat-focused and if nothing else, definitely cleave our heroic mortal in half before anyone knows what's going on. So i'm thinking of toning things down a little, and switching my monk into a more paladin-type character. Sticking to roughly the same storyline. I'll have the updated char sheet up shortly. Any thoughts?

Don't worry about your power level on my account... if I'm stupid enough to become a target during an encounter like that, then it's my fault :P!

Anyway, if what you want is a more paladin-type, then go for it. Just do what you -want- to do, not what you think protects Leon :P (Or the rest for that matter)

Well you know I thought about your to hit dice and this is my thoughts on it. Your base damage isn't that bad. With 19-24 dice you're going to do a fair amount of extra damage, but since you haven't overloaded yourself with M Arts charms, you should be around ten to twelve extra damage, which isn't that much more than Spider's Base 16 damage. (I could be mistaken on that number, i haven't done the math, but that's not the point) Your real advantage is the ability to attack more times. I will admit that if you get in a fight with other PC's around, you will be able to defeat the opponents easily, because for the safety of the group, it might be awhile before you need 19 dice to hit.

Also, the game was always going to be one where at some point one character is fighting the big tough badass while other people fight other stuff. It'll be good practice for me to put you up against someone who needs to have that kind of fighting power from time to time, sooner or later you guys have to face the really tough opponents.

So if you want to change your character because you want to play something else more, go for it, but i've already started work on the game based on your existing background and stats.

right then. i think i'll leave the char as it is then. gotta rein in all these characters wanting to materialise onto char sheets in my head.

Yup, I couldn't do a twilight without a spell or two... pretty defensive and basic spell I have, counter magic and demon banishement, but I have a mentor, so I can think I'll be able to learn other spells sooner than later.

Okay. Progress report: How’s everyone coming with there characters?

Dawn: If you want to change anything that’s fine, but I wanted to start soonish and without knowing who you are and where you’re located, I can’t do that much.

Night: Just let me know how much longer you need. I can start without you completely finished no problem. Try if you will to place your character somewhere in the East, as that’s where most of the characters are from, and it’s looking like I’ll have to bring the rest of us to that area.

Zenith: I still need your languages. Also a place of origin and a physical description. By that I mean are you Haltan, Linowan, from the Haslanti League, or other. With your Unusual Appearance flaw you’d have to be from one of those, or a made up location with genetic alteration (ie green hair, discolored skin, so forth)

Eclipse: Still need languages. Also, since you were in the Wyld with the longevity ability and with no memories, the question of just how long were you in there comes up. Where you there for a few days, months, years? Is your family still around? Also, does his memory skip all that time, by that I mean does the memory of his time in the Wyld seem disjointed or does he simply go from right before going into the Wyld to today, as if nothing happened, or is it more of a bad memory he can’t quite make out clearly? How does this affect him? Perhaps one of the reasons he moves from the south is that despite his love for the area, everyone he remembers is gone.

Twilight: I think you’re good to go. Take a look at the Occult rules on Thaumaturgy, and if you have the new magic source book (Ordex Codex or something like that), the section on the Arts is really neat. There are some very cool abilities that you can do without essence costs. I’m a little concerned that with your spell selection and artifacts that you will not have much chance to be an occultist. By this I mean when you are not involved with demons or spells, all you’ve got is your stuff and skills. So brush up on everything that you can do with the ability without charms. You’ve mastered the Occults. You’re one of the smartest people in Creation. You’ve got to be more than just a dude with an axe. Also your motivation is fine, but have you put any thought on why he hates the undead. There is nothing in your history that really says anything about them. Yes the creature you fought during your exaltation seemed connected to the dead somehow, but is there something more in addition?

Heroic Mortal: Languages. Also, I’m a little confused about the idea that you were being raised to be a pleasure slave. Was this what the Steel family had in mind for you, and if so what kind of society was this? Most people are taken into slavery, not bred for it. Or were these people so strapped for cash that they just were willing to train you and sell you to the Guild? Was there some sort of social benefit for becoming one, sort of like a courtesan? But if that’s the case, it seems out of place with the strong martial training of the city. I’m not saying you can’t be both from a place of high combat training and be a courtesan, I’m sure there are places that train diplomats to be both fighters and performers, and you’ve got the stats for such an idea. Just wondering how you saw these things working together.
