Greetings all,
I’m having a bit of a problem figuring out what abilities an Improved Familiar grants it’s master.
The Tome & Blood feat “Improved Familiar” says: [T&B pg 41 Top Left] Familiar Special Abilities: Use Table 3-19 in the Players Handbook to determine additional abilities as you would for a normal familiar.
T&B also says on pg 15 in the Improved Familiar chapter: Granted Abilities: In addition to their own special abilities, all familiars grant their master the Alertness feat, improved evasion, empathic link, and shared spells at 1st level.
Lets say that a Wizard wants to take a Small Air Elemental [T&B pg 16 Bottom Right] as an Improved Familiar, the Air Elemental has the following Special Qualities: Granted abilities, touch, speak with master, elemental.
Now the way I see it is the Granted Abilities are the abilities listed on Table 3-19 of the Players Handbook [pg 51].
Does an Air Elemental familiar grant its master the Elemental ability?
What say you?
