Feat Recomendation

Hagan Grimmbrow

First Post
I'm trying to plan out my feats for Heroic tier at least. so far, I have ritual caster, from being a cleric, Raven Queen's Blessing first level, Toughness at second level and the Dhampiric Heritage feat at fourth level. I plan to take Wintertouched at tenth level and Lasting Frost at eleventh level.

Aside from weapon and armor proficiencies, i'm not sure what other feats work best for a cleric. Input is welcomed and i am open to the idea of retraining.

Depends on if you're Str, Wis, or Str/Wis.

Ranger MC works great both flavor-wise and crunchy-wise. Being able to name a foe you can deal alot of damage to once a fight? That's so Raven Queen. Pick up Dungeoneering (crypts!) or Perception for the skill.

If you happen to be a dwarf, Shield the Fallen is a great leader feat.

His Wis is 15 and his Str is 16. and I'm leaning towards MCing into one of the new divine classes in PHB2, Avenger, most likely.

Some of the Shadar-kai feats, but it seems that a Shadar-kai cleric was not in mind when the feats were created.

If you like toughness, consider that feat for 1st level instead. Also, the durable feat allows you to have an extra two healing surges... very useful for a cleric. While Dhampyr has its uses, normally I only allow that to be taken at 1st level, and the one PC that did this continued taking Dhampyr feats to flesh the character out. He just wanted to rollplay the daywalker idea, and he loves the PC.

Metagaming answer: Whatever will provide you the most short term benefit, as you'll likely retrain it soon after PHB II comes out and you get a shot at implement expertise or another powerful feat from that book. (I expect that we'll start hearing leaks in about 1 to 3 weeks...) Focus on what might be useful int he next short series of adventures - perhaps you need 3 new languages, skill training, a skill focus or something else along those lines...

I went with the following for my elven cleric (ranged):

Warrior of the Wild
Channel Divinity feat (Melora's Tide)
Astral Fire
Durable
Shield Proficiency (Light)
Armor Proficiency (Scale)

I definitely think that the Armor/Shield Proficiencies are worth it (Scale Mail, especially, is very good, once you get to paragon levels, as it has no disadvantage once you learn Armor Specialization), especially if you have a good Str, anyways, and havn't neglected your Con, you should easily qualify for those.

Under normal circumstances, I would agree, but we have a DM who decided to make us all Dhampyr and gave us the option of embracing it.
